Kilroy is all about... Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Anybody here think it will bring that? I'm doubtful because the europeans no longer have the purchasing power advantage as the euro slips relative to the u.s. dollar. And, we yankees are licking out wounds due to the stock market sell-off, and there is no liquidity from the banks for fund these purchases because everyone's credit or home-equity-cash has been cut off. Most importantly, is that line 'let your soul shine' a mid-90s Allman Brothers lyric? It is cool for sure. Now, go buy on of my les pauls...kilroy
cmatthes Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 No way.Not that it matters much, but that's an '84/'85. My '84 4-digit Standard is about 30 digits before that one.
BTMN Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Neal seems nice enough but he does have higher prices it seems on anything I have ever looked at in his advertized prices going back to seeing his ads long before Evilbay. He has a '96 Dean USA Korina V about $4000 over priced cause Robbin Crosby lost it in pawn. Come ON!
gwayne Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Most importantly, is that line 'let your soul shine' a mid-90s Allman Brothers lyric? It is cool for sure.Yep, from "Soulshine" off ABB's "Where It All Begins". Warren Haynes wrote it and it's (kind of) become Gov't Mule's "Free Bird" - not that there's anything wrong with that. I love the song and never tire of it. Larry McCray recorded a cool version of it and I think David Allan Coe did as well. Mule's live version off "With A Little Help..." is my favorite. Chuck Leavell is doing the intro and starts playing off-key before he recovers. The song finishes with Warren and Derek Trucks trading licks. You need to check it out.
veatch Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Could be just baitin' for an offer.Very nice guitar.I don't have them kind of potatoes, though...
bubs_42 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Well if you consider the color, condition, and if you are not going to need to get rid of it asap.... It's not worth it now but... How much does a 59 Sunburst cost again? Seriously we have the same thing going here a ton of Star's played Standards, made in the same manner as alot of Vintage Instruments. I won't bring it but if someone wants a specific appointments.
The Shark Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I used to know a guy that would put his guitars on eBay at huge prices. Every once in a while, he'd pop one for huge money. I don't think this guitar is really for sale, if you know what I mean. It is nicer than most guitars on the planet. That goes without saying. I'm bettin' he's keepin' it.
Disturber Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 http://cgi.ebay.com/1984-Hamer-Standard-Na...S:B:SRCH:US:101Expensive but nice.
