Scarab on ebay

The seller should deduct $585.82 for the signature.

And also the fact that it's a Scarab.

The body style screams 80's which isn't for everybody, but they're very comfortable to play. I tried a Scarab bass that balanced about as nice as anything I've ever played and it was light as a feather.

Agreed that ergonomically and weight-wise, they're fantastic, but I've had a Scarab guitar and a Scarab Bass and just couldn't stand "the Look" that they had (or didn't have). They looked like toothpicks on me.

I have the same problem, but my wife has informed me that "It's not the guitar's fault, honey"

Who cares how well it "balances"?

It's a dated guitar (that was marginally apropos, even at the time) further devalued and defaced by none other than Hammy Sagar.

Pass.

The sad thing is that Sammy Hagar might have been the most "legitimate" guy to play one.

I HATE Van Hagar.

Every time I see a Scarab guitar I think of the dorks in Krokus.

Scarab bass = Rick Savage

The redheaded step child of Hamer is not Sammy Hagar nor the Scarab, its the Eclipse!

The Scarab is dated for several reasons, Hamer reissued them in the import line as an 80's line up, no one professionally plays them, and the body shape is recalled to only a few players like Def Leps Bassist.

Sammy is a great guy. He does several benefits and charitable works.

It is too bad that Sammy joined Eddie and Alex. One of the best front man ever to wear chaps and zulu colored thongs was Diamond Dave. Sammy was good enough to poke fun at himself and David when they both went on tour a few years ago.

I have a red Scarab that I had Sammy sign, because of the album shown. Didn't know that Hamer actually made a Sammy Hagar Model. I'll put my Black and Blue Zulu Scarab against any other dual humbucker out there.

I never thought Sammy was a great guitarist or a great singer but then again I don't think David Lee Roth is either.

Thank God Robin Zander had the intelligence to turn down Eddie and Alex.

Wow, that I didn't know. That would have been weird.

Ummm...no....and Ice Cream Man rules.

Clearly it would have been Zander Halen, Zan Halen, or even Zander VanderHalen, but the fact is, the lead singer could have been Enrico Fu**ing Caruso, and you know what the name of the band would have been?

"Van Halen."

Unless it's an Eclipse 12-those KICK ASS!

I liked SH pre-Van Halen, but it was just too hard to accept a guy with that low of a profile (comparatively speaking) to step into the biggest clown shoes in the industry.

The result sounded like barely warm oatmeal.

I like that Sammy seems that he's having fun on his own (and with Mike Anthony now and again).

Hey Serial,

Yep I agree. The 12vers are in a category on their own. The only album that Van Hager did that I like is For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge. Unfortunately, I don't think the band had any direction on that album. It was country, Pop, Power Rock, and screaming that was barely audibale at times. From pre- Keith Urban with Baby Come On to a tribute to MC Chris and Playboy - Spank it was all over the place.

This just in: another Scarab (II) but sans SH sig:

eBay Scarab II

BIN for $849.00. Lets see, accounting for the aforementioned deduction of $585.82 for the SH signature, the equivalent price on this is a BIN of only 263.18.

Wow! That thing could open a HUGE beer bottle!

If you find that bottle, I'll help buy the opener. :)
