edgar_allan_poe Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 OK..I am as good a practical joker as anyone but this has gone on long enough and I want the person responsible to fess up. Its one thing to trick someone, but this is insane, and I know that it was someone from here...Apx eight days ago, someone from this board drugged me and while I was asleep they placed me in a carefully constructed replica of my entire community. They *think* that they were sooo smart, but they made a critical error. See...there is absolutely no way that I can be in Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh simply isn't 90+ degrees with 97% humidity for eight days straight. No...its impossible. They placed me in Atlanta, or Miami, or other hell hole. Walking outside gives me the sensation of walking in a bowl of soup.I know my Trinidadian wife had something to do with this, because she sits outside with a smile on her face.So please...whoever did this...could you *please* put me back in Pittsburgh? I have suffered enough of this f*cking miserable weather.
Jeff R Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 90+ degrees with 97% humidity for eight days straightTry it from June through September, ya big puss.
Ricky2 Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 See Poe, some people here remember seeing a photo of that lovely wife of yours shoveling snow, while you sat inside. What goes around, comes around.
cmatthes Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Okay. Ya got me. I didn't feel right hogging all that weather down here in the District. Besides, I have to re-setup every guitar/bass whenever I play. That cuts into my time and I don't have that kind of time. I figured with your summer vacation you wouldn't mind.
MCChris Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 The word that Mr. Poe is unable to put into the hot, still, sodden air is 'doomed,' because the people you've just read about have been handed a death sentence. One month ago, the Earth suddenly changed its elliptical orbit and in doing so began to follow a path which gradually, moment by moment, day by day, took it closer to the sun. And all of man's little devices to stir up the air are now no longer luxuries - they happen to be pitiful and panicky keys to survival. The time is five minutes to twelve, midnight. There is no more darkness. The place is Pittsburgh and this is the eve of the end, because even at midnight it's high noon, the hottest day in history, and you're about to spend it in the Twilight Zone.
Stike Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Shut up and take yer ass down to Gluskey's. They got AC and I'm sure their stock of Iron City is ice cold.
Scottcrud Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Damn, that sounds like some downright comfortable weather Poe, come on down to Texas brother, 100+ degrees, 95% humidity and that started in May and won't let up till the end of September. I only wish it was ONLY 90 degrees here.
tafkathundernotes Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Just noticed the necks on my basses all screwed up last night. Time for an adjustment.
kizanski Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 See Poe, some people here remember seeing a photo of that lovely wife of yours shoveling snow, while you sat inside. What goes around, comes around.BAM!!Welcome back, Ricky Deuce!

edgar_allan_poe Posted July 20, 2005 Author Posted July 20, 2005 Someone from (the)Pittsburg calling Miami/Atlanta "hellholes?" PHHHhhAWWWhahahahahahahah! What crust...Only in the summer...I'll take your winter weather any day! LOL!!
Tres Aardvarks Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 yeah, it broke 100 here today, but hey, it's a dry heat
alantigold Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Well, while I missed the pics of Poe's missus shoveling the snow, I will make two points. One, you don't have to shovel heat. Two, here in some of the more advanced suburbs of Pittsburgh (i.e., closer to the county line), we've imported these things called "air conditioners". They cool the air and make it drier, and therefore more comfortable.I'll take this over snow any day. The girls wear much more clothes when it snows. Which is an advantage in McKees Rocks, come to think of it.Alan

Jason01 Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Drugging you and recreating your whole community would have been too much work, we simply moved the earth closer to the sun.
