serial Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Very cool guitar that I was planning on hanging on to indefinitely, but a fellow HFCer inquired about whether I would consider letting it go. He since had some unexpected expense come up, but before I spend time with it and fall in love with it again, I'm jonesing for an electric 12. Featherweight, nice neck-not the super-skinny like the 81's. One of the good ones. MUCH less coin than a similar year Hamer Standard (with similar iconic value) yet the closest thing out there to one of those. Super clean, all original with original Dean HSC. You won't find one in this shape and in this finish. $1800 plus shipping and insurance. I can take more pics if interested, but for now...
analogsystem Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I love dots and binding! Good luck with your sale
Ted Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 The Black Z Beauty! Does it get better than this? Possibly for some, only having Boomers could eclipse this FINE Guitar!
dgstandard Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Oh gawd...that is awesome!! +1 on the dots and binding.
LordOfTheThighs Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 One of the coolest guitars I've seen posted on the HFC. Wish I had the moo-lah. I really love my black Time Capsule Z. Dean ... old and new ... makes/made some nice USA models. You may get some big time interest over on the Dean forum, if you haven't posted it there yet. Good luck. That'll be hard one to replace. Choose wisely.
crunchee Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 WOWOWOWOWOWOW! Somebody's gonna be one happy buyer--wish it was me!
lhrocker Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 Hey Steve - I had that same guitar years ago. Does it have the soft V shaped neck?
serial Posted April 21, 2010 Author Posted April 21, 2010 The neck is closer (to me) to a "C"-it doesn't have that hard "V" that the 81s seem to have (which I think is a bit too much). This is a really nice, comfortable one.Looking for an electric 12-preferably a Ricky, but, hit me with just about anything but an Eclipse. I'm open to trade+cash for the right 12ver.
serial Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 Bump before I decide I don't really want a Ric.
carfish7 Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 So would playing a "Z" Standard through a Dr Z amp be over the top cheesy for a guy like me? Me likey. "Z"
serial Posted April 30, 2010 Author Posted April 30, 2010 So would playing a "Z" Standard through a Dr Z amp be over the top cheesy for a guy like me? Me likey. "Z" Not in the slightest.
clmazza Posted May 1, 2010 Posted May 1, 2010 Killer vintage Dean at a great price!Good luck with the sale...TTT
serial Posted May 7, 2010 Author Posted May 7, 2010 Feel free to make an offer (reasonable, of course)-I'm eyeing up a particular 12 right now, so I might bite...This is the closest thing to an original four digit (these were fairly low production as well) that you'll find out there.
serial Posted May 19, 2010 Author Posted May 19, 2010 Looks like I missed the Ric 12 I was looking at. Now open to trade stuff, trades and cash or, as always, cash offers.12 strings, Duotones, Rics, whatever of similar value to this one. Looking for something I'll use-I gave too many Explorers and can't get rid of one of my four digits!
serial Posted May 20, 2010 Author Posted May 20, 2010 Depends on what Strat-email or pm me if you'd like!
cmatthes Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 I've spent a little time with this one, and it is a NICE vintage Dean.
serial Posted May 27, 2010 Author Posted May 27, 2010 Bump for horse trading? This is a cool-assed guitar, I'm just looking for something non-Explorer (unless you've got an old Ibanez Destroyer lying around).Cash offers or trades + cash also welcome.
