cmatthes Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Here are some of the shots I grabbed on Saturday/Saturday night: Bob S. and the Bros Herman, in their "album cover" pose... Some random deckage: The Lunch Bunch: Paul signing a few things for Scott L ("SVL")... Paul's presentation to the group: Where are they now? This dude looks awfully familiar:
cmatthes Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 The infamous "Ron Wood" Standard made an appearance...although he gave a valiant effort, Peter was not able to slip it under his shirt: And now, the Jam portion... From the balcony, EL and Steve H. plan world domination...or maybe try to steal a look down a hot bartender's top: The Paul Hamer Experience kicked things off in style:
cmatthes Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Mike Gorman (Pezband) with a sweet 4-digit 8 string: Mimi Betinis led a rousing set with a few old classics and his new single:
Shark Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Great Pics. Wonderful story to follow. So keep them comin ...
DavidE Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I like how Paul had no issues breaking out the neon pink SS. :-)
dgstandard Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 Wow, that looked to be a special time! In a world today that everything is disposable and doesn't mean much, it is really cool to see a bunch of guys from all over getting together to honor and celebrate Hamer guitars with the man who was there from the beginning. I am proud to be a fan.
BadgerDave Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I just realized that's Mike Gorman from Off Broadway, USA! Damn, what a missed opportunity bug him for stories about "the old days".For you young guys, Off Broadway was probably the finest Power Pop band of the late '70s to mid 80's, though they were overshadowed by Adamany Management stable-mates Cheap Trick. Songs like Stay in Time, Bad Indication, Full Moon (Turn My Head Around) and many others are examples of perfect songwriting technique. Off Broadway guitarist John Ivan is one of the most innovative, tasteful and instantly-identifiable lead guitar players I've ever heard.Go to iTunes or Amazon and listen to "On" and "Quick Turns". Unless you're a pure metalhead, you will thank me.
DavidE Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 I saw Off Broadway open a show at The Palladium in NYC. Can't remember who else was on the bill. UFO? Anyway, they got booed and were given the finger throughout their set. I guess you have to take the good with the bad.
cmatthes Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Bruce decides that tuning ISN'T for...whatever - I still want that damned guitar! The 4321'ers brought their "A-Game" to Chicago: My shutter just wasn't fast enough to keep up with the set-ending pose striking! BadgerDave keeps things classy onstage while the Muse keeps things cool at the bar:

cmatthes Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Shredmeister goes over that blinding-fast lick one last time: More HFC action: Paul declares that it's officially "Miller Time" at Excalibur: "You need coolin'..." "...Baby, I'm not foolin'..." "I'm gonna send you back to schoolin'..." "Way down inside, Honey you need it..." "I'm gonna give you my love, I'm gonna give you my love..." "Wanna Whole Lotta Love..." Joe can belt it out with the best of 'em!

elduave Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Joe with the lead singer cocktail on stage win! Wish I had been feeling better, I would have loved to knock 'em down with you at the after party!

cmatthes Posted October 19, 2010 Posted October 19, 2010 Los Bros Hermanos: With Ned Babb: Fastest fingers ever recorded on a 12'ver - Rob Herman! Ned, Paul and Mike: Joe ("Earachemyeye") with Paul:
