jerseydrew Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 If you were deserted on a desert island and could only bring one AMP, what would you bring? (Yes, I realize that there's probably no electricity, it's just a figure of speech)If I could only have ONE amp, I would bring my Boogie DC-3 combo. I can get clean, bluesy overdrive, and all out ripping distortion from this baby.
SteveE9C6 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 My Rivera M100 2x12 combo.... The most versatile amp I've ever owned.
hardheartedbill Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Mesa MKI reissue head, it's the one I've owned the longest and have been the happiest with, honorable mention to the Carr Rambler
MCChris Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 My Valvetech, and I assume I can have a cabinet, which would be my Bogner 2x12. Those two together ... perfection.
Jeff R Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Ducking before I get hit...My Roland Microcube. The MVP of my stash of gear.
MCChris Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Ducking before I get hit...My Roland Microcube. The MVP of my stash of gear. What a time to be pragmatic.
copper blue Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I'd probably take my Professor's Kid Coconut 2x10-bamboo cabinet, palm leaf grill..-creamy as cream pie overdrive, cleans like an island lagoon..
edgar_allan_poe Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Fargen Bordeaux...with my Cajun Cannon 2x12.
bbobb24 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I'd take my Budda Verbmaster, mainly because I love it, but also because it's my only guitar amp
bobbymack Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 As long as there was a good amp tech on the desert island, I'd take my '69 SF Deluxe Reverb...(never know when that cap job will have to happen) Nothing like it for the surfy stuff you'd be playing there, plus you could crank it to get the great natural OD whenever you wanted cuz the neighbors wouldn't care... No amp tech? Then it'd be my Kingsley Deluxe 30 with Burt Antique Pine 2x12, Celestion Blue + G12H30...sounds real, real, real nice.
Jorge Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 If I could only have ONE amp, I would bring my Boogie DC-3 combo. I can get clean, bluesy overdrive, and all out ripping distortion from this baby. +1.I have its modern brother though (the F30), I like the distorsion channel better, but the wonderful clean channel is the same as in yours.
kurtsstuff Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Hmmm??? well...I don't have any combo's so....one of my Egg's and at least a 1x12 cab??
KorinaHound Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 JeffR's Microcube and a shitload of AA batteries... I'd take Jeff's because I don't want sand in mine...KorinaHound
Buzzy Fretts Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Prob'ly the Dr Z Maz Sr 38 1 x 12 combo. Hands down best / versatile amp I've played through. I love blond tolex but I might have to go fire-engine red so I can find it in the sand.
Submariner85 Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I think I'd be looking for food instead.
tomteriffic Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Of the ones I own, probably my Teefused Peavey C-30 or 50 Crate VC head with the Avatar 2 x 12 cab.Of the ones I'd like, probably a Rivera somethingorother.
Matt Mattson Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Roland Cube 60 -- and follow the extension cord back to civilization.
Willie G. Moseley Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 I'd be for pragmatism as well in such an egregious scenario. Y'all are gonna laugh, but I'd go with a Peavey Bandit that has TranTube technology, simply on accounta it'd hold up. Those sound better, even if not producing the so-called ultimate tone, than some people are willing to acknowledge. And where's the nearest tube store in Micronesia? I'm writing this realizing I should be prepared to dodge a buncha worn out 6L6 tubes and other items heaved in my direction, so flame away.
