Good luck with the hunt, it's gonna be worth it when you find one. I was fortunate to score a couple of months back, and what an awesome WOODEN guitar it is. Deep in the woods, but no slop. Speaks perfectly. Unlike any guitar i have played.

Yeah, I don't think a lot of these were made. Good luck in your quest. The Phat Cats are similar to P90 so that may be another way to go.

Have one with Phat cats - but the difference in construction makes it interesting.

I would think that the P-90 version sounds a lot rawer, fatter and compressed than the Phat Cat version. I imagine though the spruce gives the P-90s more of an edge.

I would be all over one with phat cats... but if you ask me, there's one with hums

at guitar center brooklyn that might be korina... and they'd probably ship it cheap...

Once I've been comparing P90s to Phat Cats. Phat Cats are more teleish as P90s are more midrange. They create a close to acoustic sound on the Newport. On a tweedy Valvetech they are killing. Conrad, turn the second channel volume off and turn up the first volume to the edge. You'll like it.

If one does not pop up, is a Vanguard a reasonable substitute? At least they should be easier to find.

Have a few Newports already (a Newport Pro that my son-in-law uses and a Korina with phatcats) but now want the P90 version with the wraparound bridge.

If you have any comments/feedback on the Newport Korina, it would be of interest. Not sure how badly I would like one, but would be interested in hearing how it compares to a "regular" Newport.

None ?

It looks like you won't come around a custom order. You already know we are story and pic hunters. B)

I know of a NOS one - but the price is a little steep.

Don't give up hope.

I've placed a "WTB Monaco" ad at least twice a year since I've joined, with no luck until last week. Someday your prince will come.

Almost what I used to tell my sister......."Keep taking pictures and send the film in for development,,,,,Someday your prints will come!"

With a claim like that you have to post a pic or a link to a pic. Please?

What ices the cake on a Newport 90 is the wraparound bridge.
