sw686blue Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Or even a prototype!Yeah buddy, that's what it is.
Guest gearwhore Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 pre-dates standards...seems under priced if that the case.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Its a longshot, but I wonder if this poor fellow actually thinks (or was told) this is possibly 1976 model by flawed serial number logic rather than a 1986. Yes, I'm trying to take the high road here. (Que studio audience laugh track here).
crunchee Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Sounds fair, I think I'll buy it...for my wife, Morgan Fairchild! Yeah, that's the ticket!
Thundersteel Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 He said it predates Hammer Standards, not Hamer Standards.
Andrew Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Intellectually challenged is the polite term.It is an early one and note the Kahler Fulcrum, which was intended to be standard issue on the basic Chaparral. The blade switch is a later addition as it should be three mini-switches, the new insert matches their position.
Hamerica Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Sounds fair, I think I'll buy it...for my wife, Morgan Fairchild! Yeah, that's the ticket! Morgan Fairchild? I haven't thought of her since the "Seduction" or was it "Falcon Crest". Normally I don't try to derail for sale posts - Crunchee did it nicely. That Chaparral predates the Silver Anniversary Strat too with that logic. Jeez, their problem is obvious. Hamerica
BlueRedWhite Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 He said it predates Hammer Standards, not Hamer Standards. Hammer Standards....like in MC Hammer...can't touch that

Hamerica I email HER and she says how is she supposed to know..just going off what "someone" else told her to write,,I told her it was all wrong and she replied how do I know I am right..I emailed then the paragraph from the home page here on serial #s and she said it was not official like the Hamer site,So must be opinion not fact.
Hbom Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I see he has received an offer.Did one of you guys offer to explain where he went wrong?
coolfeel Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 He's more full of shit than a waste-management plant. Here is a nicer example for those interested:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1987-Hamer-Chaparral-Custom-USA-Guitar-w-OHSC-Duncans-Original-Floyd/151287754202?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222003%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D22426%26meid%3D6524260826145087180%26pid%3D100005%26prg%3D9723%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D251517084203&rt=nc#ht_139wt_1002

Boomerang~Junkie Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 OK, we can scratch my previous "high road" post. The needle on the BS meter is now pegged. Good grief.
cmatthes Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 There is the high road, and then there is the "HIGH" road. This is the latter, and it is truly a road to nowhere.
rj2858 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Sounds fair, I think I'll buy it...for my wife, Morgan Fairchild! Yeah, that's the ticket! Well, if you're going to go after an older woman, she'd be high on my list. She looks great for 64, (though younger by a few years in this clip), and quite a bit "booblier' than I remember her from the '80's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=US70d4Zxu30

cmatthes Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I got it. I kind of felt old/dated over the weekend when Petty's "Jammin' Me" came out of left field over the speakers...pretty much every line in that song dates it to the early '80s.
