Covered wagons helped "cast" settlers across the country. Unfortunately, guitar amplifiers did not exist yet, so the electric WagonCaster guitar did not sell well and eventually, Martin Guitars sold the rights to a young man named Leo Fender around 1947. Fender kept it a secret for many years, and, using the basic idea to create the Broadcaster in Spring of 1948, and then introduced the WagonCaster when the jet age began, renaming it, the Stratocaster. So there you have it! 1 1 Quote

Yeah, cause nothing makes me angrier than a person with strong principles standing by their convictions, and wanting a better planet to live on. Really makes me want to bring violence on a child.🙄 3 1 Quote

No we ALL would not. She has to live in this world after I am gone. She has every right to expect it to be in a livable condition. 2 3 Quote

hamerhead Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 With 8 billion people on Earth, we need about 1 billion just like her just to keep the planet alive. It's not really that hard - just common sense over greed. 2 Quote

velorush Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 I certainly do not wish any child harm regardless of their views. And any response I would make to the views expressed, while purely economic in nature, would be most assuredly received as political, so I'll just not. To end on a "Random (Music and Guitar Related) Thought," after forty years of playing 10-46 strings, I'm still trying to get used to playing on 9's. I've been trying 9's since Beato came out with that video, just as an experiment. Hard not to bend them out of tune. 🙂 1 Quote

Whether you believe it or not. Yes I loved his comedy too. Yes while he didn't have a chemical engineering degree, he was quite smart. To me, he was a great comedic entertainer that I disagreed with as well as laughed with. That video is from 1992. And yes, you are correct, the situation has changed. U.S. air pollution is now far less than it was in 1992: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1225626/air-pollutant-emissions-reductions-us-by-type/ We rank 99th. by the way: https://www.iqair.com/us/world-most-polluted-countries And then there's plastic waste in the oceans: https://www.visualcapitalist.com/cp/visualized-ocean-plastic-waste-pollution-by-country/ So, yes the situation has changed, and, for the better in the USA. It has sadly gotten worse in many others. I hope everyone enjoys the George Carlin video, and, I hope you enjoy this one below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWUXzGGcShM 1 1 Quote
