Michael_B Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I was just wasting time at work by reading old blog posts about Hamers, and stumbled across this. Really stunning. What is it? I'm sure you guys all know the guy who posted it, BCR Greg; at least on that old post, he was showing an amazing collection of Hamers.
Hamerica Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 One of the few reissued Jeff Watson Models. That is one of my all time favorite Hamers. Hamerica
Boomerang~Junkie Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 YOWSER! That guitar is so stunning it almost looks photo shopped (although I know its not).I wonder how deep the "dibs" line is on that one?
Tres Aardvarks Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Really stunning. What is it?Totally drool-worthy is what it is!!!
Studio Custom Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 I went to Livermore, CA in 1992 and spoke to a dealer there that told me he had forever begged Jol to reissue the Watsons. He was told they couldn't because the endorement had ended. He pleaded with them to change the name to Studio Californian, no dice. I remember he took photos of all of his Hamers using two cameras and then had a view finder that made the pictures 3D.
Feynman Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 There will never be a dibs list on that one.
Jeff R Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 That's Silentman Lou's custom order, correct?
Toadroller Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Weird, I thought that was a Shishkov What's On model.
Hamerica Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 That's Silentman Lou's custom order, correct?I believe so. I think one of the Cajuns have another lust worthy Watson as well.Hamerica

I'm sure you guys all know the guy who posted it, BCR Greg; at least on that old post, he was showing an amazing collection of Hamers. That's Lou's guitar. Greg was the dealer Lou ordered that guitar from, and he takes pictures of the guitars he sells or that were ordered by customers - that's not from a collection.

I remember he took photos of all of his Hamers using two cameras and then had a view finder that made the pictures 3D. I spoke with Dave (the dealer) before he passed away a few years ago at some length about some of the cool Hamers he had ordered. I think most of our heads would have exploded by some of the orders he placed and limited runs he did back then! We chatted on and off for a number of years, and he sent me a bunch of stuff from his shop - ads, sales flyers and pictures as well as some old Hamer catalogs and strings he had lying around. Wow...
bcsride Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 I miss Hamer. A Watson (black) popped up in the for sale section sometime within the last 2 years or so. I think I was first in line. I pulled out as I was short cash. But, I probably could have found a way. I should have done it. So many Hamers. So little time.
