ARM OF HAMER Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 1..............$400.00..............2.............. $400.00.............. 3.................$400.00............4..............$400.00.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 I'm not that shocked really. I figured a genuine, new Hamer Sustain Block - from a reputable seller would easily break through $200 and possibly even $300. So, list me in the "not very surprised" category for the sale price on that one. In that same vein, I read posts here talking about the high price it fetched and talking big smack about peeling SB's off their existing rigs and such or selling one they have stashed in their sock drawer. Well, its been months that I've waited for one to pop up and I still don't see any other SB bridges for sale here or on EB. So much so, I bought and will probably go with a 2TEK instead. So what I see, is a fair dose of hard reality setting in, where everyone with any sense realizes that Hamer is done for good (yes, really done) and what was made by them during their glorious run is IT. So now, no one wants to break up a perfectly good guitar just to sell the bridge. Just my two cents worth. Edited to add: If someone can scan an existing OEM SB or get the exact specs in a CAD format then you might be able to sell a few of these. I'm still holding out a remote chance for a black one.
mc2 Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 Let me know how installing your 2TEK goes. I also bought one but have not had it installed yet.
Boomerang~Junkie Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 It will be sometime after the Mike's initial Ultimate run - I'm on his waiting list for "other cool stuff".
Steve Haynie Posted April 11, 2015 Posted April 11, 2015 It appears that the used market is making it more cost effective to try a reissue. Jol had a run made recently. We have talked about getting a run made. And talked. And talked. And talked.
stratacus Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 or, seller has more than one..... Anything is possible when sustain blocks sell for over $400.
hamerhead Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 It's gotta be bullsh!t, doesn't it? Who would pay that? If they knew what it was, they probably know the going rate. I mean, there are only a couple Hamer owners I know of that are really stupid, and even they wouldn't pay that much.I'm calling BS.
hamerhead Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 F************ me. That's nuts.Anybody want my set-up piece? I've been using it as a paperweight. The plater stretched the holes trying to polish it and it's got 3 sets of my initials from trying to get the size/position right. It's a flawed but fully functional prototype that was used to dial in the awesomeness that was later to come. You could own this collectable one-of-a-kind piece of Hamerhead history for a paltry sum of $800 (sorry - block only, no saddles included. Plus shipping and handling). C'mon - the rarity factor alone makes it worth double. Doesn't it?Congrats to the seller and the buyer. You needed one another.
ARM OF HAMER Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 I understand whats being said, guess that is the law of supply and demand and what someone is willing to pay to have it. I know of a musician here where I live that paid $650.00[And he says he got a deal! ] for a original complete set of Gold Kluson "SealFast" tuners for his old Gibson. He had newer Gold Grover Imperials on it which I thought looked and worked just fine but he had to have the "REAL" thing and said the guitar also now sounds better to him.So were they worth it? I guess in his case it was because he paid that high price to get the part he needed to "COMPLETE" his guitar. We are saying these Hamer guitars are made better than Gibson's so just saying................I wouldn't trade either of my Hamer Sunbursts for his Gibson................and he knows that................. I guess that makes me a .
atomicwash Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 ^^^ supply and pay the price if you really want it ^^^^Theoretically, this should increase our sustainblock Hamers when the bridge is worth 20-40% of the guitar's value.
cmatthes Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Theory isn't reality. As I've stated before, there's more gold in them thar hills...
mc2 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Assuming it is a former Hamer/Kaman person, since they've sold a box a Hamer branded vibratos and now selling NOS sustain blocks. Spreading the sevarance stash for everyone's benefit
cynic Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Hamer parts and Nascar......isn't "Jackass" a big Nascar fan?
Hbom Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Relisted: http://m.ebay.com/itm/181714739744 And that one sold for $315.00. If he/she sells a couple more and they keep dropping 22% per bridge, I might win!!! edit; spelling edit again; correct gender & value
