murkat Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I am to doped up, tired to search for.The voodoo power supplies I have are just too big, bulky.anything out there in the new that triumphs over the voodoo lineup?links please.
Sugartune Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I use a One Spot. Not sure the disadvantages over using something like the Voodoo or a T-Rex Fuel Tank. It works well and I don't see or hear anything wrong with it. Just can only do 9v. https://reverb.com/item/811468-visual-sound-1spot-one-spot-combo-pack
hamerhead Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 The Pedaltrain Volto works pretty good.http://www.pedaltrain.com/volto/
django49 Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 http://truetone.com/power-supplies/1-spot-pro/1-spot-pro-cs7/THESE are getting strong advance comment......Truetone is the new name for Visual Sound. Will be out in July, I think. Not sure if better or smaller than Voodoo, but I have had good luck with their One Spot power supplies......In theory, there should be some newer refinements.
BadgerDave Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Another Volto fan here. I have 2 on the underside of my board so I can quickly switch over if one runs out of juice. That's never happened.Eliminating the AC cord is a real advantage.
cmatthes Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 I use the T.Rex Fuel tank - way better than the other stuff I've tried, and it comes in a few different sizes/capacities.
Ethan Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Not sure what you want to accomplish besides scaling down size, but if I didn't use the Voodoo Lab stuff I would look at the Ciocks or G Lab....
G Man Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Another OneSpot user here, small and infinitely daisy chainable. Doesn't seem to cause any oddities or excess noise. Not really sure why people pay more for a bulkier product.

I'll keep an eye on that one....
Bobby Marshall Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Truetone looks like they are close neighbors to NTL!
RobB Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Hope they can power Strymon, et al. Don't wanna pay $300+ for the VL Mondo...
BadgerDave Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 The VooDoo Lab 4x4 has 400ma 9 and 12 volt outputs to handle Strymon and similar high draw pedals. As Jay mentions, it is a big mofo, though.
tbonesullivan Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Most people I know are a fan of the one spot. The voodoo ones are great of you are insane about having a noise free setup, or use a lot of high current or high voltage pedals. But for most the one spot is just fine. Most of the non 9V pedals have their own adapters anyway.

The downside is that the 4x4 can't power all of the other 9v pedals. Sucks, but I may have to jettison my pedaltrain boards for the new ones with the "universal" cutouts for power supplies. The new VisualSound one looks promising.
geoff_hartwell Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 Def a fan of the one spot. I use the pedal power 2+ for certain things, and it's awesome, especially if you need that extra 3 prong power for your tube driver lol, but I gotta say I have a several one spots in regular usage and I've only ever had one go bad - still use the same daisy chain. And at $35 it's easy to stash a spare, and it WILL save your ass one day, the spare certainly has saved mine. Eta, that new one spot might be the perfect middle ground!!!
