Kharmann Ghia cool car spinoff.

What musician has (or had) the coolest cars?

Any with surprisingly bland wheels?

Any rivaling Jay Leno's collection?

Eric Clapton, Nick Mason, Sammy Hagar and Jamiroquai have serious collections.  Few mortals have the cash to rival what Jay Leno has in his garage.

Geez.  Just think about how much cash Leno would have if he hadn't filled the garage. ;)

Its hard to put a price on the historic machines Leno has bought over the years, but he's the only guy I've heard who has a staff of six guys, full-time, maintain his cars in a garage/shop that rivals the size of a jumbo-jet aircraft hangar.

Yeah, Leno did stand up during the Tonight Show years as well as the show.  According to what I've read, the stand up money is what he lived on, so he had/has plenty of money for cars.

I am pretty sure that EC ordered a multi-million $ Lambo or Ferrari a couple of years ago.

As above.....Joplin's Posche jumped to mind. Jeff Beck and the late Danny Gatton are real grease monkeys who work/worked on their own cool rides. The ZZ Top guys too.

Glad my Karmann Ghias inspired something 😀

I also had a '39 Willys panel truck with purple shag interior back then formgigs and my bandmate had a '37 Plymouth as his main driver...we drove it to Atlanta. I also had a Chev van with candy red w/flames paintjob that I did the whole cutom interior on. Traded a Pinto for it.

This was my first ever, a 1965. I drove by it for weeks, as it sat on a tiny corner car lot in Rochester, NY where I was a FM radio DJ. After a couple weeks I stopped to ask "What IS that ugly red and black car out there?"  It was a barn find Ghia for $399. Gave the guy a deposit and bought it that payday. Even had straw inside and under the hood. Did some minor body work myself and had Maaco repaint it silver. So many people mistook it for an old Porsche. Had to link two batteries together for it to start in the Rochester winter because it was 6 volt. Some pregnant woman broadsided me at 2 a.m. as I sat at a red light after leaving the radio station in a snow storm.

Both Clapton and Mason are 'regular' Ferrari purchasers.....Clapton ordered a 'bespoke', custom-made Ferrari based on the 458 chassis, but completely custom coachwork by Pininfarina to replicate certain styling queues of the 512 Berlinetta Boxer, the car he had (and wrecked) during the recording of 461 Ocean Boulevard.

While I despise nearly all things Nickelback, I must admit that I like Chad Kroeger's taste in muscle cars, particularly this Boss 429 he sold via Barrett-Jackson. The car sold for nearly $300k, but the caption on this one is priceless.

#1279 – Chad Kroeger’s 1969 Ford Mustang BOSS 429 Fastback
Sold for: $291,500

bj2014-69-mustang-boss-429-300x225.jpgThis beautiful ’69 Boss 429 Fastback belonged to Chad Kroeger, frontman and lead singer of the band Nickelback. They might make shitty music, but he has good taste in cars. This ’69 Boss 429 has been restored to concours standards, right down to the chalk and grease pencil marks as if it just came off the line. Has a rare 820-S NASCAR engine with forged internals and extensive documentation. Comes with a signed guitar and 2 passes to some kind of VIP who-gives-a-shit event.

Nick Mason owns one of the 36 or so Ferrari 250 GTOs in the world.  That's at least $35 million right there.

As a classic Porsche fan there's only one that I'm aware of that's ever done it for me.

Janis' family recently sold this car recently sold at auction...for over $1.5M as I recall.   It was featured on an episode of "Chasing Classic Cars" on the Velocity channel. https://www.velocitychannelgo.com/chasing-classic-cars/?season.id=5638cdd16b66d11b5672e500

Here's a little info on the car/auction.  Starts at around :30

Billy Gibbons. His book about his life, cars, and guitars, is simply awesome. Frank Beard is also supposed to have a pretty good collection. No idea if Dusty Hill collects as well.
