I shudder at my suggesting this, but Line 6 makes affordable 4x12s and smaller cabs that are said to be loaded with (probably Chinese) Celestions that are voiced for their amps. Considering they are modelers too and the speakers are tasked with replicating a host of amp sims, I'd at least try one if for any other reason they are readily available new and used and definitely affordable in either case. The last thrash band I played in some 10 years ago,  the guitarist used a Line 6 head and 4x12 and he definitely brought both the gain and the bottom thump one would want. If any Line 6 stigma is applicable, remove the logo(s).

I have a recent Line 6 1x12 combo in my shop and the Celestion in it does the job wonderfully. In Boogie-set-for-thrash sims, it produces so much low end for what it is, the 1x12 combo at high volumes, thanks to its very light weight and hard plastic feet, literally will bounce across my smooth painted concrete floor, about a half inch with each palm mute runk chunk. I'm not kidding.

Haven't tried many things because the used Atomic Reactor FR I use at the moment is about all my budget can allow for now but I am painfully aware of how important this decision is so I am curious to see what gets recommended besides the Atomic CLR.

I saw your post about buying a Axe-FX III (congratulations!) and immediately wondered what you were going to do for amplification. If you plan on going directly to FRFR I think you off to a good start because I think trying anything else is a losing battle unless you only use one or tow sounds that you can dial in around your non FRFR gear. For the typical user who wants to be able to use a bunch of sounds FRFR is the only way to go IMHO.

I have two of these.  They sound great and are very reasonable with regard to price.  I've played three live gigs and have been very pleased with them maintaining their tonal "integrity" when cranked.  I've also used one for my keys and one for my rig in a pinch and am buying one to use with my keyboard rig for Christmas.

What I really like is that the presets I create with my headphones sound almost exactly the same through the FRFR units.

WINNER WINNER!

I can't attest to them being the "best" but I liked what I read and saw. Plus, I got 15% off and I have a 45 day period to return it if I don't like it!  :D

You can spend a ton more money, but I'm very pleased with them.  And I'm a guy that spends tons of money on shit I don't need and can't justify.

That headrushfx FRFR-112 monitor looks to definitely be related to the Alto TS212. I wonder of they are they same under the skin or if there are differences. Very interested in hearing your thoughts once the headrush arrives and you have had some time with it.

ALTO TS212

Good catch. Looks like the same enclosure, apparently different amp & speaker.

It's all the same company, InMusic. https://inmusicbrands.com/

I saw a Youtube video where a guy from Headrush said that Alto manufactured them, but they were tweaked for reproducing guitar modeling.  Whether that's true or not, I don't know.  I guess you'd have to A/B them to find out.

+1 on the Tech21 Power Engine. They come with the low-regarded Celestion Seventy 80 but that speaker is just perfect for modeling.

It's been said before, but never expect your headphone mixes to work through the flat response full range powered speakers.

Understood. Just want to know what might be better for using it as a headphone amp to play around with. I have some Beyer DT770's for cans, those might be decent, though I've found them a bit annoying to actually try and play a guitar while wearing them. If I plug earbuds in will I just blow them up, or will it maybe sound ok to screw around with?

Those Fractals are so darned flexible I think any of those suggestions will work. I'm using QSC 1000-watt powered monitors. None if I trust the sound system. One or two if I have no idea what the stage will be like. Light, loud, built to last.
