Once your picture is loaded, you can share to a notebook app or your messages, then copy and paste from there... it usually starts with a http and end with png or jpg...

No, you're right BUT enough has occurred on here that underscores the special nature of this place that I stand by my initial assertion.

I have a Stevens that was custom built for someone here that they never took possession of. They contacted me, we agreed on a price and I thought we had a deal in place. For whatever reason, they did not have the funds available (which was odd given they approached me to buy) and I agreed to wait. At the end of the waiting period, I contacted them, they were still unable to buy. A year later I contacted them again, still a no go. As far as I am concerned, I did my wartiest to help them in a transaction I was never seeking to begin with. My point being, now the prospective buyer knows where the guitar currently resides, but there are several other hurdles to go. Maybe the buyer is interested at $800 and the seller loves the guitar it it would require $2,400 for him to even consider, etc.

cynic Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 OP never mentions buying it in this thread so maybe you should get your cart off the street ya negative nellie. Whether they work a deal or not, guy shows up looking for a specific guitar made over 30 years ago and within a week it appears it's been located. That's a win all day in my book.
Rick Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 Hamer-on, can you tell me more about your snakeskin as it looks very much like the one I have been searching for!
Rick Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 Cynic...I hope this is my brothers guitar and you are right....crazy if this is it! Win Win is right! Great forum!
Crwth145 Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Our HFC discussion board IS, without doubt, THE BEST electric guitar & music related site on the internet! Gentlemen, let's keep it that way... shall we?

kizanski Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Back on point: Is that THE guitar, or one just like it?

A side by side comparison suggests it is, if there was a better version of the catalog photo it would be easier to tell. Did the brother register the serial number? If so, then it would be easy to know for sure. Or, did the current owner buy it from the brother?
Rick Posted November 6, 2019 Author Posted November 6, 2019 Cynic...I hope this is my brothers guitar and you are right....crazy if this is it! Great forum! I have been trying to locate his paperwork to find the serial number. I'm sure he registered it though as it was made for him. I don't know where to find that possible company registration since Hamer doesn't seem to have a record that far back. I am waiting on Hamer-on to fill in some info as to whether or not he is the second owner.
Studio Custom Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Hamer USA no longer exists. You need the Mattes list and to begin with the SN of the guitar shown to see if the info traces back to your brother. Or, you need access to your brother's email accounts, which the executor of his estate should be able to get with the death certificate.
Steve Haynie Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Does the serial number database show where guitars were shipped?
hamer-on Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 Thanks to Cynic for posting pics for me. A bit of background on the guitar. I bought it 10 years ago from Triple R guitar, Lemoyne PA. I believe from original owner. The guitar has been well played. No wonder because it sounds great and the neck is perfect. It has a characteristic ding on the lower horn. Apparently it was caused by...a brick being thrown thru the original owners bedroom window by an angry girlfriend, hitting the innocent guitar sitting on its stand. Does any of this ring a bell? Also found I still have the strap that came with it. Red with strap locks. Never thought about selling it. But it has been sitting in the case with a broken string for a while.
DBraz Posted November 6, 2019 Posted November 6, 2019 This has the making of being a very happy ending. I really hope this works out for all concerned.

Hell YES, some great mojo from that! The "awesome factor" of this guitar just jumped up a few more notches knowing it survived a brick throwing bunny-cooker.
