I like so much about that guitar. I’m really getting into single pickup guitars the past year plus. I also find that unbound necks are generally more comfortable.

I do think the pickguard is a bit much for that wood figuring. Covers too much. I also tend to like wraparound style bridges with single pickups as opposed to TOM stop tail setups.

but overall, I approve...

How do you feel about a neck through body Explorer shaped guitar?  I am preparing to copy my Standard but as a neck through.  I won't be leaving the neck through block natural, I will paint it the same color as the back and sides but I will be using a maple block to give it a different tone than my Standard.

I agree. Way too much Pickgaurd for sure. I`d rather have none. As for the neck thru, I love neck thru guitars. They play so nice. I love pretty much anything with just a single humbucker in the bridge.

Agreed. I really like single humbucker Les Pauls.

I’m good with neck thru. I still have a neck thru guitar in my collection and it’s killer. Definitely agree that it should match the body sides, tho. I’d either do a solid color top or a thin veneer with a solid color back. Not sure how I feel about a thick maple cap on top of a neck thru. I’d want as few big body pieces glued together as possible. But that’s just me.

Yep. Going with a veneer.

I’ve become a big fan of single pickup guitars in the last decade or so.  My son swears by them - I just picked this one up for him from the shop today.   Elduave and I put it through it’s paces at volume for a bit, and it did not disappoint.  Push/pull tap, tons of tones, and this guitar weighs well under 6lbs!

I know!  😆

I’ve got other guitars with Single humbuckers, single P-90s and Single Tele/Esquire pickups that I seem to grab a lot more frequently as well.

I love one pickup guitars too. They are more versatile than they would appear.

That strat is cool!

Guitar looks gross with pickguard, did the price go up 500 bux overnight? IT's had a lot of little changes to it, considering it is an endorsed guitar, imo.

Crap, I'd rather be on the hot n heavy with Barkhamstead, just sayin!
