pasqual12 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 I came across this estate sale listing. Not sure if someone else has posted this or not. Might be flying under the radar. Looks like 3 Steve Stevens models in excellent condition as well as some sort of Ibanez double cut and a wacky custom build. The estate sale company says cash only and I do not believe they are doing any remote sales. I'm in Arizona and don't know anyone near Melbourne. Perhaps they'll stay in the HFC family and at decent price. Sale starts tomorrow. https://www.estatesales.net/FL/Melbourne/32940/3160362
bambino68 Posted February 10, 2022 Posted February 10, 2022 Nice eyes.. Id be a buyer if someone would be willing to take a look for me?
ebradfordrich Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Cool. I’d like to know more about that red teardrop shaped one. It looks like something Prince would have played.
cmatthes Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I don't know what that odd black/red graphic doublecut is, but although it definitely ISN'T a Hamer, it sure looks like a Hamer case, which is cool.
The Shark Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 Okay, so the red SS with the chrome has some Hameritis at the neck joint. Nothing too messy, but it might discourage the faint hearted. The red with the black floyd is in great shape and I think they'll take about $1,300 for it. I'm out. Can't give up the time to dive three hours right now.
hamerhead Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 That sperm/football/crab-looking thing would go over great in the dive bars we used to play.
The Shark Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 She told me that she sold them all today. Wouldn't tell me how much....

The Shark Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 The middle one was $1,300, if I wanted to drive two hours each way. The one on the right has some Hameritis on the neck near the heel. Didn't have any interest in the other one. Glad the guy got them. From what he says on FaceBook, one or more will be for sale.
The Shark Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 Just found out those belonged to Ronnie Abney of Abney's music in Orlando. I worked as Sales Manager there in 1991 and 1992. I think his brother is selling all his stuff. COVID got him last year.
stratacus Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 The 3 Steve Stevens models are now on Reverb
HamerCustomEr Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 The Reverb ad is a little misleading, in my opinion, because the seller makes it sound in the description like he has had the three guitars longer than he has: "Selling three SS models at the moment -- this is definitely my favorite to play. Sings like a bird. Frets are in good shape, everything is structurally sound -- obviously this was well-loved and played in. I tried to show the wear faithfully. Case is also solid, though the covering has seen better days and the bottom latch is missing a piece." https://reverb.com/item/51334632-hamer-usa-steve-stevens-model-1985-with-ohsc

I didn't intend to mislead -- I meant "obviously" as in "it sure looks to me". I love played-in guitars, and when I got a look at these, I just thought "well, this one was his favorite". And it's my favorite of the three as well, in the brief time they've been around. Anyway, I'm definitely open to suggestions on re-phrasing that. These guitars don't need any added BS to make them appealing. 🙂 -paul
mrjamiam Posted May 11, 2022 Posted May 11, 2022 Just to show that there are differing viewpoints, I didn't read that as misleading. Good luck with your sale.

I knew the original owner very well.
Paul Roub Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 FWIW, I would happily sell either of the remaining two to someone from HFC (well, someone who's been here longer than me at least) via PayPal etc. (or in person, of course). $1600 for the red '86, $1100 for the coral '85, with case, plus at-cost shipping. PM if interested. Still prefer to keep one (I forgot how much fun a Floyd can be), but the neighbor hit my kid's car today and is being evasive about insurance, so who knows? Maybe they do the right thing and I put the proceeds towards a player-grade Sunburst or Special.
