And gone just like that. 🤑🤘

It wasn't even chevroned. The korina grader needs reeducation.

I suspect the 'Grade' was determined by Dean (maybe there was a certificate?), not DGS, as I've never seen them do that before.

Phew, glad I missed it... how much was it?

I think it was $2495, but I could be wrong, it wasn't any more expensive than that.

That wasn’t a bad deal.   That guy Carlino does some cool custom orders with Dean.

So strange. I was literally just at DGS in Lacrosse today and never saw it in the store. Wonder if they hadn't even put it on the floor yet. I would have loved to at least have checked it out. Not sure I would have gotten over the headstock though. I thought about buying a limited run Carlino Korina Explorer he had but didn't know what the quality was like so I passed. It was the same thing where it was a single pickup. Really looked cool. Kind of having second thoughts about it but again, didn't have any frame of reference on the quality. Lots of guitars look great but when you get your hands on them, they are disappointing in my experience.

When I say "he had" I meant that Carlino was selling on Reverb and his site. Not at DGS. Sorry.

I’ve played one.    I thought they were pretty cool.   Very dean like (or US Masters who did their building in the 2000’s) in quality.  I’m not exactly sure who does the builds but he had a couple hundred board feet of korina in his store last time I was there.

I almost ordered an explorer but with a wrap tail and dogear but thought that might be a little out there if it ever came time to sell.

I remember the 'Bad 'ol days', when they only had one store and a quasi-weekly/monthly mail-out list of gear in stock.  I think I still had a landline phone and no computer back then, too.

Agreed!  I had a subscription to their monthly stocklist dating back to the late '80s/early '90s.  It was always a fun day when that came - break out the highlighter, check the bank account and call the (not toll free) number to see what was still in stock!

The late 1900s, when you’d pick up the latest Vintage Guitar mag and search the ads.  😂   In a way, I miss those days!

First spotted this in an ad in Vintage Guitar only to buy it a few years later and then rediscovering it was the same guitar.B4D5CD92-8CB8-4578-8DDE-B2D166BDA972.jpeg

You may have dodged a bullet.  I ordered a  one humbucker wraptail korina Explorer from Carlino.  Over three years later… I am still waiting.

Thanks for that info.  Sorry to hear.     He seemed like a knowledgeable guy and I liked how he store had v’s and explorer shaped guitars all over the place.  A little bit too haggly for me… maybe it was my spidey sense.

I had lunch with a friend last week who ordered a Korina Explorer almost that long ago.  Crickets…

I am patient and understanding.  Probably too patient and understanding for my own good.  It has been a while since I reached out to Eddie C.

I was reaching out like every 6 months or so…always some excuse…the pandemic…etc.  The last I heard, the korinas were sent to a painter in Nashville & were held up due to that painter having such a heavy workload.  I need to reach out to him again & see what response I get.
I have not made a big deal on any public forums or anything… Not sure if that ever helps the situation or not.
