Shit... I forgot to tell Josh I wanted some courage in the pups he made me. Me and my guitar will never defeat the Nazis now.

Hopefully he'll still send you a cape!

To me, what I dig is their original shape.  That was one of the appeals of them rather than the "Hey we've copied a Strat" or "Hey we've copied a Tele but gave it a splash of Relish and Kammerer".

I've noticed Paul is ardently against doing something or poo poos it until a celebrity player says they want it.

I'm sure every YouTuber they've sent/given one to will proclaim it as the second coming......until the next PRS thing they receive.

No matter how badly you want to drag them, they're still WORLDS better than any of that Heritage or Carvin garbage!

I agree with you, but I also feel we need to raise the bar here.
That's like saying your car is better than taking the bus.

I'm already quite confident. No playing needed.

That's hideous.

Yep, sticking with the Squier.  I like the original PRS shape (but the neck heel? WTF?? Looks like they forgot to finish it). This one looks more like Nate's potatoes.

From the PRS website:

“What I love about PRS guitars is the marriage of familiarity and revolutionary. And that’s something I really enjoy about this model: it’s not just a regurgitation it’s a marriage of vintage and modern. It makes me want to play. It can adapt to any situation.” – Myles Kennedy

They forgot the rest:  "And they tell me this will sell like the John Mayer Strat copy, so I'll get a cut of that sweet money from these suckers, er, deep pocketed players who are appreciative of the nuances of Paul's take on the classic Telecaster, oops, I mean T-style."

Edit:  Is it just me or does the Myles version look like the guy putting in the bridge pickup put this in at 5:10pm on a Friday?

Is that what they mean by "a fast neck"?

I bought it knowing the neck would probably be the first thing to go. It's on the small side with the typical small-ish frets. The tuners don't seem to be too bad and it doesn't seem unusually heavy. If I can get the bow out of it and some moisture into it, it will go on another Squier (currently has a busted truss rod) and probably get donated.

I had a Daytona neck and an AllParts neck collecting dust here faaaar too long , and had no straight-up Tele-type guitar. So - for now - it's sportin' the AllParts, which is my favorite bolt-on and was a perfectly snug fit. It sits a tick over 7 pounds, but I still need some decent tuners.....and maybe/probably pickups.....and a bridge......and....

It's a regular merry-go-round here.

Never a fan of PRS..........................I did like the early Santana Model and they certainly have made some stunning looking [And very expensive] guitars but this one  IMHO is REALLY awful looking...................... all it needs is this for a headstock to complete the look. ggH8avM.jpg

I have a theory that PRS has been flying a surveillence balloon over the Carvin dumpster!

That kind of "Tele"/ "Tele/Les Paul" configuration has been tried before by others. I owned this one back in the day. it was modded by the previous owner to include EMG pickups and a deletion of the coil tap. It was in perfect condition and played and sounded really nice. Some will argue that this guitar is no PRS.................maybe so but the build quality on this guitar was top notch. I actually sold it back to the original owner who begged me to sell it back to him for a lot more than I paid.sbPvpic.jpg nARDZ9K.jpg

^^^ At least the toggle switch is in the right spot.

I have the courage to say that I love me my Tally with carefully voiced pickups between humbuckers and singles with a carefully set Tele vibe.

Maybe when Paul's hanging out with celebs, they secretly ask Jeff Kiesel for some design ideas?

Yeah, maybe the dark edges help soften the actual design. Looks pretty good to me there.

True, the NF 53 looks less spud-like than the Kennedy model, IMO.

This reminds me of the Ovation Deacon and Preacher solid bodies from BITD.  They can call this one the Altar Boy because clearly it's been molested.
