I chatted with Paul Rivera the year after they stopped doing the “RN” edition - he said it was just the regular 55/12, just with masking tape and regular ol’ silver rattlecan. He said if I ordered a 55/12 he’d paint it for an extra $100. I didn’t have need for that particular amp, so passed. They DO sound great though!

tbonesullivan Posted August 4, 2023 Posted August 4, 2023 The Chubster has a deeper cabinet, so in some ways it's a better amp. The preamp section is identical to the R55-12, and on the 55 watt version, I think it pretty much IS entirely identical. The Chubster 40 has a bit less output, and just has a simple series effects loop, not the buffered and adjustable one used on the r55.
