  2. This is exactly why I have been using pedal preamps instead of modelers. A good tube based pedal preamp, plus different voiced overdrives, gives me everything I need. I will probably never find my 'ideal' setup but the Tubesteader Roy preamp (Vox AC30) plus the Kaluna Drive (Plexi) and a transparent OD (currently the EH Soul Food) does the job.
  3. Just a day after we were discussing Mastodon it looks like a lesser known band call Big Hairy Elephant played at the EARL here in ATL. It's one of my favorite places in town to see a show and holds about 100+ people. I was apparently not in the loop. https://stereogum.com/2511253/mastodon-play-secret-atlanta-tour-warmup-with-live-debuts-rarities-baroness-john-baizley/news

  5. I think it looks great. Gives the vibe without being a copycat of Rick's. Beautiful work, murkat!
  6. Not me. One guitar a year? 18 guitars? Those are rookie numbers.
  7. Man, this guitar is badass!.. I wish it was around when I had money 😒💰
  8. Holy Sh!t - DavidE is still alive!! Welcome back! Oh yeah - beautiful guitar, too. GLWTS.
  9. ^^^ How many of you counted the guitars to make sure?
  10. This is giving me an irritable bowel.....
  11. If he had irritable bowel, then we'd have to say IBS IBS. IBS IDS (in deep shit) might be acceptable.
  12. I know what I'm inclined to say is probably not the debut album I listen to the most. I could say the first Sabbath, VH, or LZ albums. But If I'm being honest, I've listen to Remission (Mastodon), Appetite for Destruction (GnR), and Kill 'em All (Metallica) far more often.
  13. With all that case candy, you'd think they'd list the build specs/features, no? More self-serving corporate promo than user-friendly material, I guess... Maybe it'd be less bother to contact Gibson and see what they used. Yeah I know they make a gazillion guitars a yr, but you never know.
  14. It'll take him out. It took out my dad.
  15. I'd be shocked if he didn't.
  16. What if he has a urinary track infection, UTI?
  17. That's the great thing about IBS - its versatility - but your assumptions don't change its usage. That said, I don't think IBS was warranted here. "So-And-So: IBS" definitely implies a more grave situation than an old man who found himself short of breath.
  18. DaveH's mood is IBS...
  19. Wow!! Glad it's gone before I had a chance to consider arniez
  20. That is correct. However, there been innumerable instances of "IBS" being used, tongue in cheek, to announce a death... Therefore, whenever I see "IBS", I automatically assume the subject has died.
  21. Bummer. Thanks for taking one for the team. Better luck next time.👍
  22. Someone read the glossary.
  23. I had to leave this behind. The ebony fret board was so black it looked painted. this guitar was loved to death. The frets were completely worn out from the 8th fret up. $400 plus to shave off the nibs and re fret. The hardware was rubbed down drastically. It was definitely a $1500 players guitar. Back up for sale soon. Sorry, no pics. 🙁
