WTB: Something cool. Newport? SuperPro?
lang replied to lang's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
@django49 You oughta post a pic anyway, even if it's not-for-sale. That custom super pro is drool worthy. -
Good luck with the search. I guess I have owned at least one of each of those, except the Newport 90. All of them were great. The only one of the lot left here is a Super Pro custom order, which I never expect to sell. These things just do not pop up as often as they once did. And prices have sure changed!

Dad had two bypass surgeries. The first they cut his leg to harvest the arteries from the knee to the ankle. It gave him more trouble than the actual surgical site, once he got used to his breast plate moving a little! The second surgery they only cut a slit at the top of his lower leg and at his ankle and pulled the vein out like a magic trick! It was so less invasive. He was actually on a medical talk-radio show in Orlando and explained the advancements between the two surgeries (16 years apart). Dad bought a treadmill. That was easiest. No travelling or weather to worry about. He used to walk while he watched the evening news. Good luck dropping the weight. You'll be amazed how much better you'll feel. I've lost 60 pounds over the past ten years. Walking and light weights only. Heart is good and so is my health. Now, I'm worried about getting hit by a truck!

Good Lord, you're like the guitar ad Indiana Jones finding and getting both at once is insane. Was the bound one modified for the extra knob or ordered that way? Both look fabulous. Congratulations!

And: There is still another one from 1981 for below 2k Euros. Looks like it needed some TLC, though... https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/hamer-vector-flying-v-gitarre-1981/3493964339-74-9179

That's what got me! I had slowed down a little over the years but put it down to being in constant pain from an unrelated nerve problem (spine/neck) manifesting as pain in my neck / head. I've been on meds for that for too long (strong pain meds) so thought my tiredness was down to that. I would never have guessed that I had heart diesease. The 3 bad blocks were 95% blockage! Dangerous. Anyways, I had 1 long vein removed from my left arm to make 3 new arteries. Recovery seemed slow at 6 months but my surgeon tells me that's quick: he said he had some my age (I'm 61) still off work after 2 years. I feel good now: very good actually! Jus' need to lose a pound or too

I saw that ad, too, and was thinking of my (long ago sold) 83 Vector in similar condition. But I don't dig the Body form, mainly playing seated. Congratulations and: May they be PLAYED LOUD!

Score of the year, I'd say! Good argument for not sleeping. Congrats and enjoy!

I've played the butchered Special and the Prototype 12 at the Rockford store. The Special is in rough shape, obviously modified, and not worth 1/2 what they're asking. The photos of the 12 string do not accurately reveal the condition of the guitar. I didn't notice any structural damage, but it's been very aggressively used and shows a lot of finish wear. If you're interested, I'd call and ask them for an in-hand description and close-up photos or a FaceTime once-over.

Site Access & Email Update — August 24, 2026
hikarateboy replied to hikarateboy's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Hey everyone, Some of you may have run into trouble reaching the site recently — pages not loading, getting timed out, or being unable to connect at all, sometimes for a day or more. We tracked down the cause and it's now fixed. What happened: One of our security tools was being a little too aggressive. It was designed to block suspicious activity, but it misread some normal, everyday browsing as a problem and ended up temporarily blocking real visitors by mistake. If you were affected, it had nothing to do with anything you did wrong — you just got caught in an overly cautious filter. What we did: We identified the exact setting causing the false alarms and corrected it, while keeping our real protections fully in place. The site's security against actual threats hasn't been reduced at all. What you should do: Nothing, in most cases — access should already be back to normal. If you're reading this, you're through. If you know someone who was still having trouble connecting, ask them to try again now. If anyone is still blocked, have them reach out to me directly with a rough idea of their location or internet provider and I'll get it cleared right away. Thanks for your patience, and sorry for the hassle. -
some nice tops, just because...

Thanks Topekatj, It's a 2016 Traditional 50's with lightburst finish. I did a few mods, such as an ABR instead of the Nashville bridge it came with, I put the reflector knobs on, and changed the pickguard from the pinkish one that came with it. It is a one piece body with the 9 hole weight relief. It weighs 8lbs9ozs. It's a great guitar. Right now it has a set of Grosh pickups in it. They are his 302 and 327 set of overwound vintage specs. It's a keeper! -
The bound one is badass!

If you have something that you've been on the fence about moving, but just haven't been motivated enough to post yet, I'd like to hear about it! interests: Custom orders. Tally Pro's Super Pro's A Newport Pro? A Studio custom order? (maybe a 30th anniv? A redwood? A triple threat? I can dream.) And heck, while we're filling out the "no way in hell" wishlist, a Monaco Monaco, or a Newport 90 would certainly be very interesting too. No bigsby's, please. Thanks!
