I watch all Shane's videos because he's a real, gigging musician. He'll always add that it's his opinion, but his playing's great, his tones I think are great and the reality is if you're getting gigs with names like he is, they don't care what you use as long as it sounds good and works.

Hands hurt. Even the Hamer necks of the mid '90s seem too big. I really learned something about myself by buying the '61 Historic LPC. And a '93 Hamer Special. I have a solid one inch Fender neck from head to butt that I refuse to play now opting for a more '60s, slimmer taper. I'm also thinking I may opt for a smaller nut, hehe. And now I'm thinking of trying 9s. I tend to hit hard and this is giving me pain in the right-hand index finger knuckle where I cradle the pick. I'm thinking 9s may induce me to hit less. I don't know. I'm losing my manhood. Anyone made the switch?

Another reason to move to the format we're testing. The "dark mode" is supposed to be for viewing, not for posting, but those of us using the default view get white text on a white background. Kinda useless. Question: Do those of you out there using dark mode get black text on a black background?

Much appreciated! I have regular Imperials in a Collings City Limits and they are lovely bright punchy pickups. I've had the high wind bridge/regular neck in another guitar and I thought the high wind was barely different. Mostly been looking at the low winds because of their use in the Collings semihollows and other instruments where the chassis is darker and doesn't need a bunch of low end from the pickup. DCR aint everything but Ive always found the "middle hot" Duncans to be overly chunky and from an era when the amps didn't necessarily provide all the gain/low end you could want. With this guitar I find Im trying to get the brightness back where the Duncans just feel cloudy in that real low mid area.

Mine is a bit more customized I guess. Korina body and neck, f holes, upgraded binding, etc....All from the factory, not aftermarket, aside from the MaryAnn/Ginger poker chip. It has the regular wind Lollar Imperials, not low wind. A great match. YMMV, of course. Of the very many Hamers I have owned, this is probably the last one I will ever let go. To extent DCR is meaningful, the Custom Custom is around 14, while the Imperials are designed to be "PAF style", at around 7.6 and 8.4, with the low winds being a bit lower. I am inclined to think the low wind might be less desirable, though they are touted as being a good match for hollow and semi hollow guitars. I have multiple guitars with the Imperials and never have been disappointed. FWIW, a more recent acquisition has the high wind in the bridge. In that guitar I think it works great, though I might add each pickups has a 3 way switch to go from series to parallel to single coil. In that case, I think the higher wind gives more versatility, as you can dial back the output.....But you most likely do not want to mess with adding holes to yours for mini-switches. 😉To be clear, this guitar does NOT have any such switching, just the regular 3 way.

I've got a slightly custom Monaco Superpro (ebony board is the only change to the formula I think) that I really like the feel of but I think the higher output Custom Custom/Custom configuration is making it more of a big rock guitar than I need. It would prob be better off with a bit less output and low end from the pickups because of how fat the inherent sound of the instrument is. Has anyone put Lollar Low Wind Imperials or another similar pickup in a Superpro?

The vxt is a hybrid that comes at it from the opposite side from the Duotone, design-wise; the DT was designed as an electric guitar with the best electrified acoustic sound, and the vxt was designed for acoustic players going toward electric. Wacky scale length too, but some may love it.

The Vanilla Zen was and is my Favorite Zen. I have sworn off all Love Pedal Products do to his service. I bought a bunch of LP”s on SNS buying two to three at a time and had issues with mulitple pedals. That is ONE customer, with mulitple problems. I have had the Jubillee and other drive pedals with horrible floor noise issues, that was deemed “Part of Circuit”. The Shampooie that I bought used that had horrible crossover between the sides where you could hear the tremolo even when it was off. After contacting LP, he said “That circuit never worked out and they all have similar issues.”. I have since moved on and I can’t believe that Hermida hasn’t. That pedal is a goldmine and more players should be using it. Jubilee has been replaced with the MXR Duke of Tone Lovepedal Amp11 has been replaced with MXR TImmy Echophonics replaced with the MXR Echoplex Gen 5 replaced with another MXR Echoplex The best replacement for the Zendrive is the Barber Burn Unit, it’s more flexible, the service is second to none. Barber has a pedal that will replace any of the above mentioned and they sound fantastic with ANY AMP.

I love Parazaider’s extended flute solo in “It Better End Soon” on the Carnegie Hall album. Chicago was my first concert (our Dad took me and my younger brother & sister) and my first musical influence. RIP, Walt. Tell Terry we miss him.

Okay, this is a long shot: . Since I tend to buy pedals not only for the sound (which „is in the fingers“ as we all know), but also for the design, I am looking for two lovepedals models: the Joker Boost the Tchula „Ace“ Both seem to be the basic version of the named pedals, the only difference is the design. Which I love. Period. Tragic thing is: I had both of them, bought them via this forum and sold them stupidly. Shame on me. But if anyone here happens to run into one of them, drop me a line please. Thanks!
