Lockbody Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 When I came home to this: That's no packing around the case, folks. But I was pleasantly surprised to find inside its' beat up case this here git fiddle: Factory Kahler. Not a one piece body, but what can you do? Nice, matching, pointy head stock. It's been used, but pretty well taken care of. Previous owner replaced the original Hamer-branded Dimarzio bridge PU with a Full Shred. He included the original in the case, but I like the Full Shred, too. Plays very well and has got that signature mahogany "mid" sound. Me likey!
Guest pirateflynn Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Where'd you get it?The red looks great!
Lockbody Posted December 7, 2006 Author Posted December 7, 2006 Found it on eBay. I posted a PSA here a few weeks back, and then decided to snag it for myself. No serial number (ink worn off), but I may be able to find the year of manufacture with the pot code if there is one.
serial Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Custom control layout too-NICE. We don't need no steenking tone control!
MCChris Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 So the guy just put a cardboard cocoon around the case? LOL!
Disturber Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Damn. Everytime I see these old Vectors I get GAS. Congrats on a really nice guitar. The knob on those Kahler tremolo bars looks weird, but classy.
bruce919 Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 NIce guitar. I would like to see what the old Hamer log books say on that one. Someone custom order that one special. I had a Duotone P-90 shipped to me last month with the case taped shut & a shipping label stuck on the case. When I first saw the case like that I had a vision of a broken guitar. But it also turned out with a happy ending.

Jimbilly Posted December 7, 2006 Posted December 7, 2006 Suddenly Kahlers aren't seeming so bad! Nice score!!, beautiful guitar!

Lockbody Posted December 8, 2006 Author Posted December 8, 2006 Thanks, y'all. I've been wanting a Vector ever since I stupidly passed on the one pirateflynn got for that low BIN (that was the one, right?). Plus, I've kinda missed having a guitar with some sort of trem on it since I sold my Cali, Mirage II, and Daytonas. This one's the best of both worlds.I guess it just might be a custom order, huh? I knew Hamer made some with the pointy headstock, but I couldn't find anything about the control layout.I had a Duotone P-90 shipped to me last month with the case taped shut & a shipping label stuck on the case. I wonder if the post office told him "Nice try."?
BTMN Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 What a great way to burn my 1700th post! Congrats on a great looking Vector. Looks like a couple custom things. Kinda KK Downing Vector crossed with a standard issue Vector. One day I'm gonna find a nice Trans Yellow/Amber Sustain Block equipped one of those and be in Vector Paradise. Enjoy.
