Badass!!!

No, I think it's a rosewood and ivoroid acoustic bridge.

Hamer needs to make a Duotone bass with, say, a 32" scale, a DarkStar humbucker or Phat Cat Bass PU (or 2), and a Fishman/Baggs/Shadow/Whatever works best acoustic transducer under the bridge.

With a fretless option on a pao ferro fingerboard, strung with Thomastik-Infeld nickel flatwound Jazz or La Bella Nylon Tapewound strings.

Yes the Jazzburst is certainly one of my favorite Hamer finishs. I almost went with that finish on my 2nd Newport. Nice piece.

Hi Everyone,

I guess I am officially off of lurker mode. WOW! Those pictures are fantastic. I like the vintage natural finish but for some reason, now that the Duotone has an f-hole instead of the 3 round holes, I prefer the Jazzburst finish. I am very excited to receive this guitar.

I imagine, like a lot of people here, I became a fan of Hamer in the seventies, first seeing Rick Nielson with one (ok many!), and then later, Andy Summers, Paul Stanley etc. Suffering terminal GAS, I have been acquiring various guitars over the last few years that I have always wanted to own. I have been checking out this forum and the Hamer website over the last few months and became aware of just how well made these guitars are compared to the mass-production of gibson, PRS etc. Even though they aren't cheap, they seem to buy a much better guitar for the money compared to some of these other companies. No offence to these other companies if anyone is a fan, I have a few Gibsons, a PRS, some Gretsch, Fender etc.

I am feeling very poor at the moment as, in addition to this Duotone, about 3 weeks ago I purchased an Earthen Maple Studio. I love this guitar despite the rather chunky neck. It is remarkably comfortable to play for something that is so big for my rather small hands. I am thankful that message boards like this exist as it appears to be one of the best ways to acquire a good knowledge of a guitar fairly quickly. Thanks again Greg!

What number? I have number 10. Killer guitar. Very articulate, but with attitude...

Congrats on the guitar. Greg is good people.

My guitar is #14. It has a fairly dramatic look with lots of mineral staining. I wish the sunburst was a bit brighter (it is somewhat brown), but I am quite happy with it.

Welcome! That is a beautiful Duotone! Enjoy it well.

PSSST! That twing you feel when you see a Hamer, hide your wallet, now that you have two, it will get worse. ;);):);)

Today I received my Jazzburst Duotone. I was afraid it wouldn't look as brilliant as it does in Greg's photos, but it is a beauty! What's funny is that I actually like looking at the back of the guitar more. The Jazzburst is darker on the back and looks truly stunning on the Mahogany. The guitar, even without plugging it in, sounds like a dream. I found it very chimey, almost like a 12 string. I am not sure what wood was used on the headstock but it is also very attractive. Also, though I have almost never been unhappy with the packing done on the guitars I have received, I have to say that Greg's packing was a step above.

The only thing to do now is to figure out what guitar to buy next :P

Thanks again Greg!

Pizza Margharita, Yipppieee!

Congrats for buying both the Duotone and Earthen Maple Studio.

Now, you are not far away from a larger collection of Hamer guitars. GAS came to you already. :P
