  1. Saw him in concert in NYC, maybe Beacon theater or Radio City Music Hall. I really enjoyed the show. Excellent player didn’t feel he was posturing at all. I’d see him again! arniez
  2. I like DR Blues but occasionally have a string that doesn’t properly intonate. I complained to the company once but it wasn't worth the trouble arniez
  3. Worthless without pics, I know…. Had a British made Watkins, Strat shaped, 3 gold foil style pickups. In 1968 painted it all Clapton’s SG and a Harrison guitar. My Hippie period arniez
  4. clearly a Mosrite knockoff but nothing wrong with that!!
  5. That shop makes Gruhn’s look insignificant! arniez
  6. I have not played most of those units except the DG stomp. I have one that no longer lights up. Could be the power supply or their unit. I have a Fractal fm3, love it. I try to stay away from too much fiddling. I think the fm9 might be easier to use live, but also bigger and heavier. Fractal has great effects and the amp modeling,IMO, sets the bar. The support from Fractal is great and there is a large community that shares info and presets arniez
  7. Carondolet p 90's for the win!
  8. I was also a never PRS’er until I played a DGT. They have significantly improved their electronics over the years, starting IMO with the DGT. I did sell the DGT, after I got my Shishkov, which was wired the same way and made the DGT redundant. I did ultimately buy a McCarty SC 594 which is a really nice playing and sounding guitar! I am hoping it will be made redundant by another Shishkov😀
  9. You’re very lucky, you dodged a bullet. Many stories of bad outcomes and no refunds.! arniez
  10. Beautiful, would love to try one!! Arniez
  11. Actually sold more than I bought this year but.... was lucky to obtain this beautiful Newport 90 with incredible Carondelet p 9o's thanks to Feynman and Jefro😀 and A Maritin custom authentic 00028 1937 These are both definitely keepers!!
  12. I read this…. Didn’t really know much about the band or history. Own 1 disc only, but a good read!! arniez
  13. Really miss Johnny B...Hope he had a great birthday!! arniez
  14. Suhr Will do custom builds of his established models and also builds to a predetermined set of specs with few options arniez
  15. They were originally wired to quack like Strats. One of the better features of that model…Strat on Steroids… arniez
  16. You could just swap out the bridge with a 10% overwound pup and keep the ones you like! arniez
  17. So... After much delay I finally got my Newport back with the Carondelet (Jeff Richard) pickups installed. I really had not played the guitar electrically much because the stacked SD p90's were not really doing it for me! The story is basically this: After acquiring the guitar Feynman arrnged for Jeff to custom wind some P90's for it. It took some time before I was able to get the pups installed but I now have it in my possession. Not the same guitar.. What was once anemic sounding is now a capable fire breather. Jeff's pickups have transformed this guitar into what it was meant to be. Clean to mean with great response to both pick attack and volume changes. They are really quiet for p90's. The bridge is hotter than the neck. Both positions sound great on their own, and the middle position is great as well! I have Lollars in my korina artist and so far,IMO, these hang in, or exceed those. I know that Josh has gotten well deserved great reviews on this board. Well I'm here to tell you that Carondelet pickups deserve your attention as well. These pickups were gifted to me and I have no personal stake. If I didn't love them, I could change with no real loss to me! If you need pickips talk to Jeff. He knows his shit and you wont be disappointed. It's great to have choices from knowledgeable quality people on this board. Now about the N90... Very different IMO that my Newport Pro. This model is much better suited for rock and blues. The Phat Kats were too twangy for me, esp the bridge and the Seth Lovers, maybe a little too polite. The P90's with the center block are a different animal and as much as I liked my N pro I love this more! Wish there were more of them for people to experience. If and when I get up the nerve, I will try to do a comparison of the Lollars in my Artist Korina to the Carondelets in my N90
  18. love Glenn and very curious about that Ovation 335 ish guitar arniez
