I've also never seen a "solid one piece...bookmatched alder body" Me neither. But I am pretty convinced that it is a two piece body. It looks like it from the pics.

I dunno. I saw this and started humming on the "theme from the Pink Panther". No logic to that at all, but that is one seriously cool guitar. I'd take it with an un-potted Duncan Custom 5, if possible.

I got my green tortex picks a few weeks ago. My wife thought that the handwriting on the envelpe was "sophisticated", (perhaps she meant "girlie"). Nice handwriting none the less... I swear that these green tortex picks gives me better tone. It is like taking a blanket from the amp. (I have not been this pleased with one single upgrade since I installed my Schablottnick pickups). Seriously folks, if you want better tone, NOS Mullards or an expensive boutiqe pedal is not the way to go. It's much easier, and cheaper, to just get a set of HFC picks. Nothing will improve your tone MORE.

Austin - I believe those are called a #551 shape - those are smaller than a standard #351 and come to more of a point. I can see if we can get those done, and will let you know. Not sure if we'll incur additional charges to get the logo to fit on there, and we may have more limited choice of colors, but I'll check. If the Jazz III works out count me in for a few packages ...maybe even in Ultex Count me in as well. I use those Jazz III's and I love 'em. Hard to go back to those big old log sized picks...

I would seriously have considered it, if I was in the US. Don't want the hazzle of shipping something overseas right now. To much going on with moving to a new house etc. -
Hell Yeah! My wife says I can go, (yeah, I'm a whipped dog, I know... ). That's the good news. The bad news... ...we just bought a pretty expensive house and are moving in in July. I am putting up our country house for sale next week. Depending on how much we can get for that house, and how much time and money I need to put up for renovations on our new house - I will know my financial status for a trip in perhaps July, August. It would be cool, I have not been in the States since 2002.

oh <Salute!> K . I I was kidding, BTW. Should have added the LEDs and Shlabotnik pickups into the list, maybe it would have been funnier... If you want Schablotniks for that special run you´ll have to wait. It takes him over a month to wind one pickup! Imagine an order of ten or more, scheech! You will be on the waiting list for a year at - at the least!

They are from Stockholm Sweden. I'm not into this kind of music, but it's cool that the have fans around the globe. The real vikings were som tough bastards, so I guess music that takes influences from them must be hard. May the true Gods of Valhalla be with them! I thought everyone from Sweden loved melodic death metal I knew they were from Sweden, I wasn't aware it was Stockholm (though if I HAD to guess, I suppose it would be close to the top). They tour A LOT, which is true of many metal acts overseas - and Hel knows that some of our best make their cash in Europe (Iced Earth, I'm looking at you). Sweden produces a lot of fine metal, Norway produces a lot of creepy musicians (Varg alone takes the cake), and Finland somehow conjures up shredders and metal squeeze boxers... What's going on over there in the northlands, is it something in the water? If so, can I have some? Dave/Grimm I guess it all comes down to the fact that white men simply don't dance.

The sale pitch for the CAE sounds promising, but all new wah's I've tried sounds to "new" for me. They don't have that true vintage "whack". I don't want my wah to sound to hifi, I want it sweet and Shafty. My referenses are Curtis Mayfield, 1970's Thin Lizzy - Robertson era etc. I bought an old Colorsound wah from the 70's a few months ago and it's just killer sounding, just right - and with a fairly long sweep. I would not say "It's built like a tank" though. But with a little tlc it will last me forever.

Had a great time on the phone with Paul Hamer today.

Cool, he seems like a great guy. Fill us in on the silly stuff -
Great choice, one of the best riffs of all time. Together with Satisfaction by the Stones.

Motorcycle Emptiness by The Manic Street Preachers - Just a killer riff/melody hook. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YckDspM1AUw And of course Welcome to the joungle comes to mind. That riff blew me away when I first heard GnR on the radio.

The federal government banned them in 1988. Here's a reminder to destroy them if you have some: http://www.cpsc.gov/CPSCPUB/PREREL/PRHTML97/97122.html Or you could do the smart thing and not let little kids play with them. Or you can do the smart thing at the your neighbours kids play with them, if you find them noisy and annoying.

love that cramps , god bless lux............... Actually, I think it was Satan that blessed him. Lol. He was the coolest. In my expensive HDCD player, which I can find no new HDCD´s for, the following discs recently got a spin: The Cure - 4:13 Dream My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - The filthiest show in town (no more the Cramps, but MLWTTKK fills some of the void). Betty Davis - Is it love or desire Sly Stone - Ain't but the way Whitney Houston - I look at you Alicia Keys - the Element of freedom Bad Lieutenant - Never cry another tear Monaco - Music for pleasure Joy Division - Complete BBC recordings Gov't Mule - By a thread Lloyd Cole - Cleaning out the ashtrays Donkeyboy - Caught in A life

Today I saw a Blitz on this book cover!
Disturber replied to zorrow's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Yeah, but that Blitz did not only get a stadium logo, the whole guitar got "stadiumsized". Didn't work out, so they cancelled the idea after that. -

ZZ Top producer/engineer Terry Manning
Disturber replied to Brooks's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Yeah, the Lead 12 might sound good miked in certain situations. But other than that it has become a myth around this amp. It is a solid state and it sounds like a solid state, but with the right Marshall flavour. But right now, 2010, there are many small non tube amps that sound a lot better. The Lead 12 might be worth around 50 bucks, but when prices start to go up because of the hype, then it's getting silly. -

I discovered ZZ-top when I was 14. We were out in this cabin house, the guys in the band I was in back then, and had some bottles of alcohol with us that we had stole from our parents. That Eliminator album played on the cassette boom box all night, I got extremely drunk and threw up in the morning. It was a totally weird experience. Then I liked the Eleminator album for about a year so. When the follow up came I started to hate that sound. I did not really listen to ZZ top again properly until about three years ago. Now I have picked up all their albums up until Eleminator on vinyl. I also got that Double Down DVD for x-mas. It's pretty great! Edit; Billy must have used a Legend Super Lead 50W 1x12 amp then. -
OUCH!!! I. Want. That. Guitar. Gorgeous!

4 Digit Standard #190 FS
Disturber replied to Menmojo's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
A good refret should not affect resale that much unless the guitar is 100% mint otherwise. Changing the frets is just regular maintenance. -
WTF! What kinda idiots are these people. They should just sell him the brand back. edit; I can hear the conversation they had, Jol You can not do this to my company, Fender rep Your company! We own Hamer. Here is a cardboard box, you have 20 minutes to clear your office, then you will be escorted out of the building. Exit, thank you - and goodbye. F*ckers!

So, time to write Hamer's obituary?
Disturber replied to zorrow's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I wish I had the dough to put down a custom order right now. All I can say is, "hang in there", to Jol and they guys. I am pretty sure as time passes Hamer guitars will be just as appreciated as, let's say, what a Gibson 58 JR, is today. It was not to long ago these guitars could be had for very little. Good quality will pay of in time. -
Never been much of a Tele fan....
Disturber replied to BCR Greg's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
I want a tele in solid gold. Or better, make it a Les paul. But it has to be gold, and SOLID Great looking guitar, btw!
