  1. "I'M NOT INTERESTED IN SELLING IT FOR THAT!" he bellowed. "JESUS CHRIST, THIS INSTRUMENT'S BEEN IN MY FAMILY FOR GENERATIONS!" A friend of mine is really good at messing with that sort of idiot, he really has a lot of fun with them, -I need to learn to be more like that instead of letting it bother me. My friend would probably say, "well, yes, of course if it's a family heirloom it would be worth SIGNIFICANTLY more, why didn't you tell me it had been in your family for so long!?!?" -something like that, but likely much more mischievious.
  2. Just don't edit his letter for spelling errors, it will make for a nice comic moment!
  3. Ah, I forgot about Diablos. Anybody have a pic of a dual Hum Centaura? I still need one of those, I think that's at the top of my Hamer 'need' list right now.
  4. Very nice! Centauras are gaining popularity, they've been a bit overlooked for a long time. Steve Stevens had something to do with the design, and I think he asked for the one piece neck (I believe it's the only 'modern' Hamer with a one piece neck). I've got one in black sparkle, they're like a USA Jackson, but better and half the price.
  5. Some say these aren't too bad:
  6. I played some guitar on a friends CD project almost 20 years ago, definitely not a hit on the whole thing (my guitar work didn't help much). I never got paid any money, but I did get to hear myself on a real commercial radio station one time, -I'm happy with that! That was more commercial success that I ever expected of myself anyway.
  7. I'd take anything!, wouldn't even have to be a real hit, just a decent song that got some airplay!
  8. I think I've seen video of rockstars wearing those same pants. Cute kid!, cool guitar!
  9. I hope you flagged him, fraud deserves a good flagging.
  10. I'll have to mention Michael Anthony, it took me a while to figure that out, not much flash or fancy stuff, but the guy knows what the bass players job is for that band anyway. His playing is such a perfect fit, it's the Steve Stevens rule: support the singer, support the song. Yeah, Geddy Lee is awesome. The 'hands and feet' thing is pretty amazing, but my (now departed) Aunt could do some pretty interesting stuff on the organ. "It's amazing, he can play with his hands, AND be playing another part with his feet!, ... just like ... the old lady... at my parents church..."
  11. They lost a set of speaker stands about 2 years ago, they said they delivered, and they were supposed to be signed for, my wife was home the whole day and didn't see anybody. I bought from Audioadvisor and they backed me up, and it got covered, but what a hassle. I hope they show up, -major bummer!
  12. My '87 SS1 has the old buttons, my '87 SSII has Dunlops (I think they're stock), but that could be unique to the SS1 at that time.
  13. Wow, you have my sincere condolences, prayers too.
  14. A Cruise 4 Gotoh came home a short time ago, Gotoh's kick 2teks butt! This is a killer jazz bass, I have a 5 string w/ 2tek, and a I used to own a 4 w/ 2tek. This also, -thanks Ken! I think that was it for Hamers this year.
  15. Sbalderrama, this just up on ebay, -not mine. This what you're looking for? http://cgi.ebay.com/Jackson-Fusion-USA-Ele...1QQcmdZViewItem
  16. Just today got this 1990 USA bolt on Fusion (24.75 scale), it's one of the earlier ones from the Ontario CA shop. bad photos, sorry. I found this last week, I'm sure it's from Japan, serial number indicates it's a 1987. Neck through body Charvel in Ice Pearl, -I love ice pearl!
  17. I think MC2/Jon was thinking of selling a setneck Cruise5 with narrow spacing.
  18. Prayers sent from here too.
  19. So I guess new Daytonas and T-51s are even less likely!
  20. Ghost riders in the sky (Riders?). Yippee-aye-ayyyyyyyy, Yippee-aye-ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Cool song, and always gets a positive response, lounge it up a little. an old cowpoke went ridin on one hot and windy day, upon a ridge he rested as he went along his way...
  21. Vintage really is somewhat a matter of perspective, if it's older than you are, you're likely to call it vintage and I wouldn't argue that it HAS to be '79 or older. Vintage car racing has strict guidelines about what can be called vintage, but for very good reasons that don't translate to guitars.
  22. I think there's something to guitars turning 30 years old. Maybe it has a bit to do with a guy nearing or past 30 would like to have a guitar/bass that was built the same year as his birth and now has the money to buy the toys he wants. It just seems like in the past 10 years or so Fenders and others really go nuts in value as they near and pass 30 years old. I recently bought a nice '78 Musicmaster guitar for $320 and guys are telling me it's only worth about $400, I think I'll hang onto it for a year or two.
  23. Wow! so cute!! -Congratulations!!!
  24. Welcome!, what's next on your guitar list?
