  1. Hi, I'm pretty sure you can get a lower end Canon body and lens for $200-300 I buy alot of my stuff from canon... they have great deals on refurbs, typically they tend to be overstock or cameras being replaced soon rather than refurbs. with off camera lighting, you should still get pretty good image quality. 2. I think he's using a paper backdrop and two flashes with either softboxes or umbrellas triggered by a little remote that goes on the DSLR hotshoe... I think $200 ish for the set-up if you already have a DSLR... not heavy duty enough for say a wedding or somewhere where they'll tip over, but for shooting guitars in your basement, they do a nice job. In the scheme of things, you can probably make it back pretty easy by virtue of having better pics and easier time selling... something like this. SALE PENDING!
  4. cool, thanks, I'll try to bookmark that guy
  5. very cool!, seem to remember some guy listing a korina explorer on yahoo japan with a P-90 dogear and a wrap tail... was cool as hell. wonder if it's the same guy...
  6. oh, I have a good one... when my brother and I were younger, my father had someone make engraved social security cards for us. We were at some kind of fair and he runs into the guy who did them and he had a whole table of samples... On the table were engraved metal cards with our real names and social's. Some carnival worker is probably opening up a credit card in my name as we speak.
  7. Great stuff… very informative especially the Karl stuff on the EVH II guitar.
  8. Damn, that's a cool store... any word on the Sarasota store? last few times they haven't had a ton of interesting stuff, but I like stopping in there.
  9. I always used to follow the "product lifecycle chart" that you learn in marketing 101... It basically says early adopters pay thru the nose but once the product gets out there in the marketplace and the price will come down... I've done it for cars, camera gear, phones and it has always worked well. but that said, I like some epi's in the used market (like that Jaret James Nichols Les Paul) used to be had for under $500 used... but that firebird for that money? no... the market for gear seems a really soft and there is alot of good stuff available...
  10. agree... and I liked the care taken to avoid solder burn marks in the wood!
  11. It's not a bad price... but I've given up being the home for abused Hamers...
  12. Vegas baby, you wear something nice because you bringing $8200 and gambling it all on the craps table is a better investment than buying this guitar. Lol.
  13. Damn, 66... cool guy. Used to play his album when I was a clerk at an indie record store. Then the boss would leave and we'd put on W.A.S.P. lol
  14. I kind of like that box but these work much better! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C98YKZYT/ref=syn_sd_onsite_mobileweb_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&pd_rd_plhdr=t&aref=t1TTUMeWFA
  15. Sorry to hear about your divorce, highly recommend drowning your sorrows at Manchester Music Mill... worked for me.
  16. I think he was on something called acid! those middle two pickups are truly atrocious... who does that? a deadhead?
  17. definitely use caution on a zero feedback seller. I would recommend someone doing a reverse image or google search to make sure the pics and text aren't taken from somewhere else... edit, he has about 7 or 8 listings, the other guitars look like they have the same background... and some kiss albums for sale.
  18. This was better than I was expecting. Pretty pro sounding. Just watched the prime documentary on classic albums and they did British Steel. Very cool. Always loved the sound of that album and they (priest and Tom Allom) discuss recording at Ringo’s house.
  19. 2020 Gibson USA Original Series, gloss finish, very clean, some light tarnish on wrap tail but otherwise very clean, frets are excellent. Original pickup was swapped for a Wolfetone Meaner and sounds nice, excellent action, fairly light (approx 6 lbs 1 oz). very nicely matched grain. 60's slim profile. Comes with OHSC. I believe these might now be discontinued, IMHO, the best value in the Gibson USA line. sorry, don't have the original pickup. Great axe but mostly play my Rock N Roll Relics Special. Now SOLD Thank you
  20. One kind of red flag, includes priority mail shipping, if you've checked priority mail for a guitar, it's expensive for something big selling for $653 with a $200+ shipping included, the numbers don't seem right here. But if you feel comfortable and use credit card, I don't know... sometimes credit cards can be really picky, the chargeback is not always the slam dunk it's believed to be.
  21. Probably not. I did try it once on a moderately good deal on a camera body. Guy was a creep who basically never responded but I did get my money back. Now reverb I bought a hamer special. Wasn’t even that good a deal. Guy added a tracker for a 1 lb package which I think was to prompt the reverb payout. Thankfully. I had done an image search on the item and saw that the pics and text were stolen from another listing so I reported it asap before he got paid out. I would suggest throwing the item into google and seeing if this turd lifted the pics from elsewhere. But even then. Just avoid it and roll on.
  22. I pretty much turned over my complete collection this year... but these two beasts were my favorites... Murphy Lab Light aged with OX4 Ed King pickups 2002 Dean USA Caddy... clean with like new frets... believe this is one where US Masters did the woodwork and Dean Tampa took it from there... I have the original pickups but I added super distortions. I know the aging is bananas but it's a great axe and the frets were perfect 2022 rock n roll relics some bass content. 2020 Fender Road Worn (MIM) 60th Anniversary Firemist Silver Jazz bass... has a nice mint green tint to it lastly... building this one, hopefully for me. an MJT/Musikraft Sonic Blue Esquire with a hot Vineham Broadcaster pickup
  23. Love Philly luthier supply... I buy alot of small parts from them (ferrules, switch tips etc)... good deals nice quality.
  24. Usually, I'm pretty handy, but reversing a truss rod cover is something I'd leave to a professional... that's easily a $100 job. lol
