  1. The transaction crossed state lines. Call the FBI and see if they can make a case for you. They may not have time, but you can press them anyway.
  2. Sometimes I practice without plugging in too. Definitely helps! There is something to having clean tones with no compression or added sustain when you practice. You learn to play the notes right. What has gotten lost in my own playing is that ability to play with an amp. When plugged in, all the sloppiness shows up. In another thread it was mentioned that in order to get certain tones one ought to try practice instead of new gear. We each have our own approach to getting to that point where we can play the way we want. Whichever practice methods get us where we need to be are the right ones. For me, it is playing through a clean amp. For you guys, it is playing unplugged every now and then.
  3. When it was more convenient, practice was always done through the big amp. For practice through a small amp, my little Fender Pro Jr. is just right. It can get loud, it breaks up nicely, and it is the most portable amp in my collection. Practicing unplugged has hurt my playing. Without hearing the interaction with the amp, notes come out sloppy or the palm muting is all wrong. For someone who plays all the time that might not be a problem, but it is for me.
  4. Today it has been Crashdiet's Scandinavian Hell Tour live album.
  5. The new Iced Earth album, Plagues Of Babylon. Oh, yes!
  6. Can we all come over and try out the new pair of Sunbursts?
  7. Maybe Paul wants a player instead of something that one might be afraid to drop... within the context of expensive vintage Les Pauls.
  8. Yes. Paul is the one guy Gene cannot do without. KISS is the only business in which Gene is successful, and Paul was the one that kept the band/business going in the 80's while Gene was trying to be a movie star. Paul is not stupid. He probably has as much as Gene without bragging about it.
  9. Update the B12A to an archtop with f holes.
  10. I had to look up how they made the puppet move and the mechanics inside. It took three puppeteers.
  11. The Hipshot D-Tuner would have come with a Schaller tuner as part of the unit. If that Chaparral was converted to a five string you would notice the string spacing would be very close. The nut width for a four string Chaparral is 1 5/8".
  12. What if the design of the Peavey T-60 was tweaked just a little?
  13. The guitar designer would have to balance the aesthetic of the headstock shape with the tonal effect of headstock shape. If we are looking for the most bang for the buck there are some features we might not get. How much more wood is used creating the longer headstock shape? Everything that adds cost takes away from the idea of a straightforward working man's guitar. I just need a .
  14. What are we willing to spend here? If you are broke and cannot buy a guitar what would you be able to scrounge by selling off some gear to buy another guitar? At this point in time $1000.00 is where I am stuck. ...Unless a guitar builder wants to trade for outdated recording gear.
  15. Northfield, you described the Hamer Special.
  16. I never participated, but I did not buy a new guitar this year. I won another guitar, but did not spend any money on a new guitar or amp. I think I only got two pedals.
  17. Awww maaaannnn... it's already over.
  18. I purposely stayed away from the big prize after winning last year. Dave, I really like being exposed to new bands that get played on your show. I am going to be checking out Scorpion Child and The Dead Daisies.
  19. The thing is, Ace is set for life with some kind of trust. Someone knew to set him up with one because he lives life like a drunk drives a car.
