  1. All the good thoughts and prayers out to you and yours.
  2. I shared the table with Dave and Mr. Dreamy, and I have to second Dave, at least to some extent. No Aplpep so no 2 PM photo shoot or mooching off of his pizza He was missed. The last show I was at was a summer show a year and a half ago, and it was considerably sparser, especially with respect to the attendance, the dealer count was about the same. It was fairly crowded today, attendance-wise. Like Dave, I didn't see much that flipped my switch except some stuff at our table and a nice R7 that was fairly priced. A couple of otherwise interesting pieces were beyond my range or beyond talking-down range. But we had fun swapping gear, swapping lies and swatting flies, so to speak. I sold a lot of small stuff but would really have liked to move a couple of larger things I brought. Oh well, back to Craigslist, I guess. I have to give a shout out to Hamerican Gigolo, who made the trip to see us. It was great to meet you!
  3. I spent eons looking for the perfect (for me) Tele-type. The search ended with the T-51. I have some different flavors and variants in other brands and stuff, but for the traditional straight-ahead Tele, the T-51 is the perfect fit for me.
  4. By his own admission, the earlier stuff (writing, singing, facial mannerisms) was a blatant attempt to get chicks to buy his records. To that extent he succeeded. Now he's going for some sort of blues cred and, as far as I can tell, is failing miserably. His agent and publicist must be working way overtime.
  5. Damn, that's a beauty! Glad it got home safe. Now, wind it up and irritate somebody!
  6. A happy and safe Christmas and New Years to all of youse mugs.
  7. Mine hasn't arrived yet, and may not for a while. But it's ordered and is the only Hamer I bought this year. It will look approximately like this:
  8. Martin or Taylor. Both are good choices. Just find out which particular individual guitar fits your hands and ears the best.
  9. (Dave E) Jeez, if that only had a couple more faucets on it, I'd have been all over it.
  10. Traps are only available on Standards and that gets cut off at the end of the year. And anything that says "Custom" in the model name now gets the bound headstock treatment, as I understand it. Oh, that Standard, only in about the middle color in that burst, is pretty close to something wicked coming my way.
  11. I have something coming, part of a horse-trade deal with Most Esteemed Redhead. I've had a Micro Cube sitting under the end table by my couch almost since we moved into this house. Love it. A very cool gizmo. So cool that I've been thinking about a Cube 30 as a grab-and-go jam amp.
  12. Do you support "couch" tourism ? Of course! But be warned, I'm told the beer here is bleedin' awful.
  13. 2 1/2 -3 hours from me, maybe less.
  14. All the best from the middle of nowhere. My mom's about the same age and is in a similar situation.
  15. I first signed up in about 1998, mostly as a lurker. Then for a long while I was locked out of posting due to my forgetting my user stuff, and I couldn't find an e-dress for Ted (and even when I did there was some sort of technical snafu). We finally got that straightened out. I watched some great stuff go by that I couldn't respnd to.
  16. Wow! Happiest of days to everyone!
  17. Mine too!
  18. I was just over there on Friday, actually. I looked around for a while, but didn't end up playing anything. The Rivera Knucklehead looked pretty interesting to me. But it might end up being a little too nu-metal for my tastes. Coincidentally, Fazio's son is in one of the classes I'm a TA for over at Logan College of Chiropractic. I talked to him for a while and he said we'd go over to the store here pretty quick and play though everything. I've known Danny since he was in a punkin' seat. Tell him Tom Armbruster says hi.
  19. Take a peek around Fazio's in Manchester. He's got Cornford, Rivera and a couple of other lines and doesn't mind if you play your way through a line of them. There's a fair selection of used stuff there too, usually.
  20. Happy 51 Mr. Stingy Brim!
  21. Acoustic or electric, a couple of originals. That way the glum-looking assholes leaning against the far wall can't say they could do it better.
  22. Congrats, Nick! Everything you know changes, starting now.
  23. I've been wondering the same thing, or if it's just the camera angle that makes the USA invisible.
  24. Is it just me or do I not see a 'USA' tucked into the R? Everything else about it is way cool.
