  1. Wow - this is really quite....um.... OK, I'm indifferent too.
  2. Were I still playing electric, it would already be here.
  3. No Hamers on my map, but I have been cooking up a killer reverse V with Danzig Guitars. I'm thinking dark green, gold hardware, Kahler, dot inlays, only the headstock bound, and four single coils.
  4. That would be my guess as well.
  5. All I've ever played is Cali's and have had a bunch of them over the years And the "mutt" you see in the video is my #1 go to...It's a conglomeration of Cali parts that just works..And works well...Even with the EMG's!! Sorry - my jokes mostly aren't funny. You're the first person I think of when I think 'Cali.' Don't let that freak you out in some sort of weird stalker way though. Now amps, though, I have a bit of trouble nailing down for you... (<--ok, see, that's another joke )
  6. That sounds terrific - you certainly always seem to get killer tone (and playing chops to boot of course). I didn't know you had a Cali...
  7. If anyone could pull it off with style and ease, it's you. I guess all that theory and fluency pays off now and again. Congrats. Change your pants and celebrate.
  8. That's a fine looking guitar right there.
  9. I like the ones that begin with someone being a new member, and that he or she is content with their one and only Hamer, or their imports, inevitably saying they won't be needing any others... I guess my own most significant Hamer story is buying the LOTT Standard multiple times. I -really- loved that guitar but sadly it didn't love me back. Still, it haunts me sometimes.
  10. I want a Reflex, and I gave up trying to play electric guitar.
  11. Expensive, sure, but I definitely want to see the finished products as he creates them.
  12. I like eBay and PayPal. I also dislike them. Overall, though, I like them quite a bit. Being able to find obscure things or even non-obscure things is a breeze. Even with their cut (over 10% combined sometimes), I have made more money with my eBay sales than I have on Craigslist or forums (if I even get a response on those). I have had two d-bag experiences since 1998 when I joined eBay, and I think that's not too bad. In both cases, eBay (once) and PayPal (once) listened to reason and everything resolved nicely in my favor. I'm sure I may get burned someday, but overall I feel good about the protections, ease of use, large market, etc of eBay. I think everyone on Phoenix Craigslist is a crack-smokin' 4th grader, except me of course. For guitars and such, the HFC is my preferred shopping venue. Outside of that, eBay has been good to me.
  13. Oh geez - sorry to hear this. Brooks, get better soon brother!!!!!!!!
  14. This is news. Badass news.
  15. Baker and Greene have so much to offer. Everyone should have this one, too. I like the older cover on account of the epic beard. Ted's style made a lot of this stuff accessible to a dumbarse like myself. P.S. I can assure you that owning all of these books won't do squat for you. You have to actually open and read and apply them, or so I've been told.
  16. Bearing in mind that internet-nobody-opinions are worth exactly jack squat compared to live-in-girlfriend-opinions, I will share mine anyway. I approve of white guitars. Almost all models look good in white to me (Strat, Tele, LP, Gretsch, Cali.....on and on - white guitars are excellent). I disapprove of gold hardware. Almost all guitars look bad with gold hardware to me (same list - all encompassing). In summary -> white - good; gold - bad. My $0.00.
  17. That was fantastic. I think I felt about the same way in 1995. I think. I'll watch and listen to it many more times. Thanks for sharing it.
  18. This would do it for me, but otherwise I'll buy whatever I want. There sure are a lot of cool guitars in the world, and I happen to want all of them.
  19. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Super Chikan... (I learned about him here on the HFC) ("James Super Chikan Johnson is a Delta blues musician, guitar maker and artist based in Clarksdale, Mississippi.") STILL, I voted Jackson - Jackson is "my" idea of the metal guitar company.
  20. Hell, I'm practically part of the band! I need a t-shirt, and a groupie or two.
  21. Wow! If guitars have feelings, and I think they do, that one went from a neglectful foster home to realizing its dream. You rock - I'm *so* glad that thing is in the right hands.
  22. Congrats! We'll be needing lots more pics you know?
