Fender Bringing back the Starcaster and Coronado
RichRS6 replied to Citrus's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Never a fan of these, they just look like junk 70's imports. Fender should look at bringing back something beautifully made and much more interesting, like Hamers ! -
ruling out potential band members based on gear
RichRS6 replied to bcsride's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
If I remember correctly Scot Gorham auditioned for Thin Lizzy using a cheapo L.P. Copy and he still got the job. I wouldn't immediately discount anyone because of the equipment they're using but it can be a factor. If the rest of the band are using full marshall stacks, how would a line 6 half stack compete with the other players onstage volumes ? Jeff, the other guitarist in the band I play in has no interest in equipment but is a far better technical guitar player than me (with enough gear to start a rental company), his kit is adequate, not modern or old just good enough. I'd give him a gig because of his playing ability over me with all the gear any day. Even if he had money available to spend he probably wouldn't spend it on musical equipment, I wish I could understand how he does that !! -
What pulls you musically out of the emotional hole?
RichRS6 replied to BlueRedWhite's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
If I'm down and am enjoying it almost anything by The Sisters of Mercy, Floodland works well, If I'm down and need to get back up .. Always makes me want to jump around and reminds me what got me into music. -

Did you pick up the red sunburst on ebay ? -
A great band and a great song, had the pleasure of seeing them perform live many years ago.
-
It's been on ebay for years, nothing wrong with it as far as I know (no affiliations etc etc) but ........ Gold hardware doesn't seem too popular and its got dots on the fingerboard and for the price being asked it should be bound and crowned. So my abridged answer is it's too much dosh for the spec. It might be worth chucking a reasonable offer in as it's been around so long they may drop the price to move it.

Is a flat top sunburst with a TOM bridge from 82 like Moxies unusual ?? It's very nice regardless and a great story to go with it, though I'm not too sure I would have been too delighted about Les carving up the top.

Not a great deal at the price it's moved up to but at least it started off reasonable ! Looks like it was painted with a roller. -
Not affiliated to seller. Not much else to say really, could be a good project or useful for spares............. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251218947803?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

FS 1980 Hamer Special
RichRS6 replied to Carl.B's topic in For Sale - Wanted to Buy - PIF - eBay & Other PSAs
A beauty and a bargain for some one ! So glad I don't do wibbly wobbly stuff. -
Haven't had one for over 6 Years, don't really miss it. When we had one we found our diet became much more junk orientated, the kids especially as they would nuke anything and everything whenever they got peckish instead of waiting for mealtimes. Pizza, popcorn, micro burgers, even micro fries, all that shitty stuff that if you didn't have a microwave you probably wouldn't want to eat but if it only takes a couple of seconds somehow becomes much more acceptable, even if the end result is barely palatable.

Happy Birthday Greg and thanks for all the great work.
