That's how some Army guys find out how much they weigh. -
It may be that Irsay had discussed what he wanted done with the collection. He didn't just keep this stuff under glass - he loaned the instruments out to (select) musicians traveling through Indy on tour, and to folks who played at his charity shows. He may have told his heirs to try to get them in (very rich) musicians' hands rather than sell to someone who'll lock them away. You can't control who gets something at auction, but at least it's a more open deal.

Anyone listening to Eddie Van Halen's kid?
alantig replied to Saul Goodman's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
The big question will be if people will accept him as Wolf or if they'll keep him boxed in as Eddie's kid. That dude takes an unbelievable amount of internet hate because of his name. To his credit, he gives it back - one guy (probably about the 10,000th guy who thought he was making an original point) accused him of trading off his dad's name, so he started a pool and asked people if his new name should be Wolfgang Led Zeppelin, Wolfgang AC/DC, Wolfgang The Who, or Wolfgang Paul McCartney. Which pairs nicely with the people who continually tell him he should be playing Van Halen songs to pay tribute to his dad. Dude can't win with some people. As for me, I like the music. Some of the production isn't necessarily my cup of tea, but the tunes are there. -
And his tits are pretty nice, too.

RIP Ace Frehley. Because he deserves his own TDC.
alantig replied to DaveH's topic in Hamer Fan Club Messageboard
Still hard to believe Ace is gone. He was a huge influence on me, and was my gateway to hard rock guitar. Never missed him when he came to town. -
Reminds me of something Cody Kilby said - he played with Ricky Skaggs at a festival, and it was when Skaggs first had his PRS deal. Kilby said Skaggs was on fire that day, and he couldn't wait to walk through the crowd to hear people's reactions. He said all he heard was people saying, "Can you believe Skaggs wasn't playing a dreadnought?" Nothing about his actual playing. Too often we don't just listen.

They left out Jung. -
Critics rarely appreciate comedies, especially comedies like this. I seem to recall reading that the original got bad reviews as well.

I thought we agreed we weren't going to trash bass players anymore because we all got tired of explaining the jokes.

Seriously? $159? Wow - they were nowhere near that expensive here. Less than half that after fees. Maybe a different kind of venue than we had.
