  1. Just spit balling, but I'd be inclined to (with string tension off) loosen the tailpiece mounting screws - not seeing it in person, I'm betting the bridge being in that position has artificially beveled the face of the guitar by digging into the wood. [Theory being: the tailpiece was installed originally with loosened screws and pitched forward under string tension, digging into the wood. It's been that way for so long it has attached itself in that position]. If you can loosen it up, then put it flat on the face, then retighten the screws, you should have the correct orientation when string tension is reestablished. [/spit ball]
  2. 3. When I finally bought a Les Paul I found I needed a wider and padded strap. It's not terribly heavy for a Les Paul (9 lbs. 6 oz.), but heavy enough. I had a 3" padded Levy's for my bass and bought this one for the Lester. It works well enough weight is no longer an issue. Only problem is it will not fit in a case.
  4. Fake news! Don't disparage the Skipper! More interesting information (for fans of Gilligan's Island).
  5. With no string tension, can the tailpiece mounting screws be tightened to bring the tailpiece down to the face of the guitar? The tailpiece doesn't appear to be beveled on the bottom so that this is the engineered position. With that, it appears it would be loose without string tension.
  6. The cover (only) was in a stack of worn-out albums my uncle gave me in middle school. It wasn't until Spotify that I was actually able to listen to the album. Great band!
  7. Quick Google search provided these: Always found this one one hallucinogen too far: Village People? Hold my beer:
  8. My favorite (folds in the center with the right side being the front and the left side being the back):
  9. Found this thread that provides even more information: Sorry to be bombarding the thread, but I have a very technical email I am trying to compose and the distraction is helpful for getting my conscious brain out of the way of attempted expression (or something like that). 🤔
  10. Just found this photo of a "Dead Mint" example and it has the same mini switch: Could it be, rather than a blend knob, the piezo circuit is enabled by the mini switch? I hadn't taken that possibility into account due to the comment above of "added mini toggle."
  11. From this thread: It appears stock wiring omitted the Tone control to maintain the standard two-knob layout and provide a volume control for the Piezo. Logically then, the Piezo volume would come after the switch, wired as a Blender knob. ETA:? That was posted as a statement whereas it should have been posted as a theory - I have no idea. I'd be really tempted to go with a stacked pot on the Tone control to keep a Tone for the electric pickups and a Volume for the piezo.
  12. I especially like your complimentary head stand eliminating the need for the Fender Piggyback bits on top of the cabinet. Nicely done!
  13. Mine doesn't fold down either. I brought it down from the attic to set up my combo in the new music room / office. The amp isn't that large, but it was nearly in the middle of the room sitting on that thing. I put it back up in the attic. Makes me miss my old SF Twin Reverb with the factory JBLs. My back doesn't miss it, but I do.
  14. That's really cool and takes up far less space than the stand like this I bought BITD:
  15. Update or new version pending? ETA: I've watched each of the demos several times and can't decide. Classic paralysis by analysis... ETAA: I ordered the Blonde. I blame everyone in this thread!
  16. Would you really need meedly-meedly access on an 8-string? REALLY?
  17. Set your browser to check your spelling. In Chrome it looks like this. The result is a red wiggly line under the misspelled word. And sorry if you didn't mean that literally (I sometimes don't do a good job of picking up intimated humor). 😑
  18. I was informed this week that I may be required to clean the cobwebs off my guitars (eek! after fifteen years!). I know an amp isn't going to work in the situation, so I am really reading this thread with great interest. If I end up on bass, I'll likely go direct through a JHS Colourbox, but I will likely be required to play guitar, too / instead. I was intrigued by the discussion some months ago about the various Friedman / Tone King preamps (with built-in IRs). The other end of the spectrum would be the new Helix Stadium (overkill, but overkill is a lot of fun) or a Quad Cortex (again, overkill).
  19. Great Scott that's clean! I would love to nab that were it not for shipping costs / hassles.
  20. If I were anywhere within driving distance I would have that today. Spectacular!
  21. That looks so Strandberg I can't believe there's not a cease and desist!
  22. Depending on what you're looking for, Reliable sells that sort. There's DIY Road Cases. Amazon, too, though would you really know what you were getting?
  23. This album popped up on my Spotify feed. I'd never heard of her (but I don't get out much). I found it completely listenable, which, for instrumental guitar music is a novelty reserved for such as Satriani. Interestingly, I found occasional nods to Satch here and there, but I didn't find her playing derivative. She has her own voice. This album is from 2014, so I am late to the game: This album from was interesting in that there was a good bit of acoustic work mixed with shred: I am constantly looking for something novel to listen to and this proved more novel than most.
