specialk Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Nice graphic, but spendy for what it is (not was) 1 1 Quote
hamerhead Posted February 8 Posted February 8 Spendy?? Good one! His decimal point is in the wrong place. The headstock was accidental, but the pickup was intentional and for that someone should be beaten. Otherwise it WAS a really cool guitar that - in original condition - would have warranted the asking price. 7 Quote
hamerican gigolo Posted February 9 Posted February 9 Hit like before I saw the " mod ". Wish I could take it back. 😔 1 Quote

cmatthes Posted February 9 Posted February 9 That's a shame too - that might be the coolest Graphic Special I've seen, and I've never seen that one before! 7 Quote
Hbom Posted February 9 Posted February 9 What a shame. Someone deserves a spanking over that one. If I had the wherewithal, I could learn to live with it. Of course, I'd have to find a pickup that was properly aged to fit in with the other pups and the aged color scheme. Do you suppose that putting the xtra pup where it is(off center) was an attempt to recreate the 3bar pickup from the Prototype? 3 Quote

Yeah, it's a shame but the "modification" doesn't bother me as much as a Kahler would, for example. I bet you could even paint that pickup and mounting ring to match the graphic and it would just about disappear. 2 Quote

Disturber Posted February 10 Posted February 10 "Fckduppbeyondrecognitionnice" = when someone is overly enthusiastic about something. A new word for 2026. Has an old head crack repair - did not know until I black lighted it Added pickup & mini switch It's actually in pretty decent condition overall 2 4 Quote

DaveL Posted February 11 Posted February 11 The line about clean graphic specials being valued at $5k is kind of wild. Then again, if you have a modded one with a neck repair for $2500, I guess you believe that. 3 Quote
cornjulio Posted February 11 Posted February 11 I like this one better, 3.5k in Italy: https://reverb.com/item/93571703-hamer-special-1981-custom-black-and-white-graphics-video (no afiliation) Still have mine :-) 4 Quote

Great guitar. Looks like it's taken on a few dinks since I had her (the dink on the front on the white "tooth" by the bridge PUP was there when I got her, but the sides and back were pretty untouched from my recollection)...
