atquinn Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Looks like they ran out of black paint for the headstock.-Austin
Guest cruster Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Oddly, I find it attractive. Or maybe that should be: I find it oddly attractive. Nice either way!
Jimbilly Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Too cool! I heard that pink is the new black. What year is it? (the guitar, wise-guys...)
Jason01 Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Good lord, now theres a store that doesn't budge on prices! What year is that?
formula73 Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 :P;) Enter slew of cusswords here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want that thing so farking bad dammit! Sell it to me! Dammit!!!!! Arrgg!! I really want to convey my immense jealousy, anger, and frustration but I just don't think this can get the point across. Envision me gritting my teeth and punching my monitor.
Hamer95USA Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Hey BCR Greg, I hope you get the cool Scepter V guitar. I don't think pink is quite your color though. Do you plan on wearing a mini-skirt, makeup on your eyebrows and hairspray in your hair. Instead of the Grumpy Old Men band, is your glam band going to be called, "Spank"? Remember to bring out all your Marshall stacks and play loudly as possible. Don't forget to put the cucumber down your pants, ok? LOL Way cool, rare guitar. Give 'em $350.00 for it, ok? Guitar George
paults Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 Beeyoutifull! And hilarious, in a good way. That is an HFC jam guitar!
HAMERMAN Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 I love it!It's what Vinnie Vincent would have used if he switched to Hamers. :-)
Nuclear Wessel Posted April 4, 2005 Posted April 4, 2005 OMG! I don't believe it! NOS? It's probably celebrating its 20th birthday this year! Welcome to Clubbe Pearl Pink V! Here's mine: Modified by a previous owner with black knurled knobs, JB's in both positions, faded & yellowed finish, and a slew of dings, bumps & bruises. Modified by me with a pair of Duncan Full Shred humbuckers, new pots & wiring, and some TLC for all those bumps & bruises. The tone this guitar has is just amazing. I'm not parting with mine anytime soon.
Tres Aardvarks Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 pink is for sissies and short boys. Red and black is for METAL!!!
Steve Haynie Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 pink is for sissies and short boys. Red and black is for METAL!!! True metal colors are black and silver. Only those people who tried to jump on the heavy metal bandwagon when it became big would suggest black and red. So, there!
Tres Aardvarks Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 pink is for sissies and short boys. Red and black is for METAL!!! True metal colors are black and silver. Only those people who tried to jump on the heavy metal bandwagon when it became big would suggest black and red. So, there! hahahahahhaa, rouche! I think Slayer might have something to say about that. (of course they also wore streiped red and black spandex back in those days so maybe they're a bad example).
MCChris Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 This is the next custom order barrier we need to destroy. We crashed throught the Watson wall, next should be Scepters with the Virtuoso not far behind. After seeing Mobster's Skid Row Standard and Lou's Watson, nothing surprises me anymore. And if someone gets a Studio with a Standard headstock before me, I'm going to turn a pistol on myself.
cmatthes Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 MCC:Load that pistol or get in line on that order, son! I've had my jones on for one of those since '85. I've also placed that order 3 times now with the shut-down every time! I'll find a way to get one and let you know, okay?!
HAMERMAN Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 Chris:Any idea why they would turn that order down? I would have thought they would say yes to it since:It's not a bolt onIt's not a super stratIt uses existing body shapes, just in a different combination.
BCR Greg Posted April 6, 2005 Author Posted April 6, 2005 Jol told me each time that I order one that it's "too OBVIOUS", whatever that means.
cmatthes Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 What I've been told has varied over the last few years when I've tried to order this, but the top two reasons were:1. Gibson already did it in the 80s on that "Spirit" guitar. Not looking to get into any sort of conflict with Gibson.2. It isn't something they really feel compelled to do at this time/it doesn't excite them (maybe a "been there, done that" thing?).I defer to their decisions, because again, the guitars say "Hamer" on the headstock. Doesn't mean I'll stop trying to get it done or anything, because I REALLY DO have a significant reason for wanting that particular thing done, and don't want it from anybody else but Hamer.Hamer did this before a few times for my local dealer in the mid-80s, and I've been trying to get my hands on one of those for 20 years. I'm not quite at the point of getting a Studio Custom and re-necking it with a Standard neck, but I'm getting closer...
Jack C Posted April 6, 2005 Posted April 6, 2005 I want someone to order a Studio or Monaco with the Vector headstock. Then we'd be getting into Marauder territory. Yeah, baby.
