cwgatti Posted July 18, 2006 Author Posted July 18, 2006 Email sent! What are you going to buy with the money from the sale of all these guitars? Custom-order? I am gonna keep one or two, then maybe buy a PRS. I want a maple cali, but cant find one. I was in NYC went to a few shops. no one had any monocos. I am not crazy about the new hamers, or the company anymore. When they were in Ill. they were the best. Now, I am disappointed. I could tell you great stories of how helpful they were back in the day. Now, they just don't care as much. I don't blame them. business is business, but I buy a lot of gear, and it was nice to be treated really well. . . .
acb Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 woooah!never clicked on that gallery link before now...OH SNAP!!!
bluexj Posted July 18, 2006 Posted July 18, 2006 Why can I not see the gallery? When I click on it I get a message saying I don't have permission to view it.....

It's just a shame that their chosen direction leaves so many fans of the old school Hamer guitars out in the cold. It's pretty sad when even somebody like Vernon Reid doesn't have the clout to get Hamer to make superstrat's. I understand Jol's take on the matter but that doesn't mean I am happy with it. :-)
musicman Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 Check your email.I sent an email a few days ago regarding the Daytona with no reply yet??Thanks
Michael_ Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 What's the story with the Chap/Vintage S combination? Looks cool.
peedenmark7 Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 never got a response/extra pics requested to my inquiry on the chap either...whats up ?
Guest pirateflynn Posted July 19, 2006 Posted July 19, 2006 never got a response/extra pics requested to my inquiry on the chap either...whats up ? You still have some money left?
cwgatti Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 Sorry guys, I have been really busy. I will try to take some more pictures when I get a chance. I sold the Cali. The story on the Chap/ vintage S: found it iin a pawn shop. The finish was checking badly. Bought it and a 30th Anniversary Marshall head that was also in the shop. Gave me leverage to get a great deal on the Hamer. The finish was so bad, that I don't think he would have ever sold it to anyone but a HAmer nut. I stripped it, and refinished it with a finishing oil. Like a Tung oil, but it had a honeylike tint. Came out GREAT. Only thing that drives me crazy is that the original seafoam green can still be seen in the cavities of the guitar on the back. Plays great. Next to the Cali, it was my favorite guitar. The Red Sustainiac has hardly been played. The Daytona has been in the case for a long time as well.
cwgatti Posted July 19, 2006 Author Posted July 19, 2006 What's nice is that I don't have to sell them. I will look on ebay to get an idea what the market price is, and post something similar. Make an offer, or even educate me, and tell me what they are worth.
Punkavenger Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 Whats REALLY nice is I can withdraw my bid and get a chappie somewhere else have a nice day
hamerhead Posted July 20, 2006 Posted July 20, 2006 I agree with Punkavenger - looks like you're yankin' everybody. Put a price on your stuff and go from there. Guys here WILL let you know if it's too much. I could be wrong.
cwgatti Posted July 20, 2006 Author Posted July 20, 2006 I guess it is better just to sell them on ebay. The Cali is sold, but look for the others over there. . . .
peedenmark7 Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 its pretty tough for one to make an offer without better pics... simply taking one picture while standing on the opposite side of the room as the guitars, leaves much to the imagination.
black magic Posted July 21, 2006 Posted July 21, 2006 I have been asking for info for a week now, where did this dude go? Jack.
