sirDaniel Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 wow Stike you are:KING FLAKE!!bE4 i DIE i will have your flake on one of my guitars.
cmatthes Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 The original finish was Hamer's black, but I've never done really well with black guitars, and since somebody had already taken great pains to do some minor routing, I thought this would be a great opportunity to get something cool done. I think that the Orange BigAssed Flake came out tons better than my original idea of straight gold flake. Besides, I think that there's a law somewhere that says you have to do orange when using 'Trons...
Turdus Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Very Nice CM!I just picked up something that is sparkly and green...... think Gretsch Sparkle Jet.
cmatthes Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 Could it BE a Green Sparkle Jet?Gotta check that out!
elduave Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Gotta check that out! Get your canoe so you can cross the river.
marcnorth Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Nice looking guitar, I had to put on my sunglasses just to look at it.
Disturber Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Now that Is a strat Bootsy Collins would be proud to play. Me want bad.
Sentinel Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 In times like this I wish Jol D was a member of this forum - I'm extremely curious of what he would say about that guitar! I think it's over the top and fantastic - not in my taste but still wonderful!
Tokyo Tapes Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Wow, I sincerely hate strats, but I could see myself owning this one
tombo Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Chris,VERY COOL and it's my favorite color too - orange! One question: How did you get the gold hardware? Isn't a gold Wilky pretty hard to come by?
serial Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Considering that both of his Daytonas have gold hardware, he must be good at finding them!
kizanski Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Just had my paws on that bad boy....man oh man!Great job, Stike! Even under street lights it looks AMAZING.
Stike Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Just had my paws on that bad boy....man oh man! Great job, Stike! Even under street lights it looks AMAZING. Don't you have a couple geets with "old, beat up" paint that could use a refin?
kizanski Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Don't you have a couple geets with "old, beat up" paint that could use a refin? Well...there are a couple...
Stike Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 Don't you have a couple geets with "old, beat up" paint that could use a refin? Well...there are a couple... C'mon, lemmie at some TV Yellow. Deep down you know it's fuckin' uglee.
kizanski Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 C'mon, lemmie at some TV Yellow. Deep down you know it's fuckin' uglee. When you agree to do a checkerboard finish, you can have it!
Stike Posted November 5, 2006 Posted November 5, 2006 It would be worth to rid the planet of just one example of that nasty color.
Kilroy is all about... Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Stike is the MAN!! Well worth the wait and then some... This is the best "Strat" I've ever played. The triple-Trons are pretty damned cool, and incredibly versatile too. Gets great Strat clean, but with a USABLE bridge pickup. A keeper, for sure. that's SICK; and, now I have a visual reference from now on into infinity... kilroy posts...
