sw686blue Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Who owns that gold Standard Custom?tomterrific
marcus2 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 I gushed about this one a few weeks ago. Thanks again to BCRGreg (for the photos, too). Life is oh so good.
mc2 Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 ONLY Jackson inlays ever on a Hamer...setneck snakeskin Chap, ebony, OBLs. This was such a great guitar. Ronni's been diggin' up old stuff and rotaing some on her myspace page. http://www.myspace.com/ronnicrooks Think there's YouTube video too.
serial Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Here's a really weird '81... This one is a Phantom on the top/Cruisebass on the bottom. BUT, it predates the Phantom and possibly the Cruisebasses. 24 fret neck on the Phantom neck, gold hardware, sustain block...Weird. Always wondered who "T.K." is/was though. You have to be wearing THESE to wear THAT.
dirk Posted February 5, 2007 Posted February 5, 2007 Here's one very unusual Hamer Sunburst. 1. Interesting serial number 2. Very beautiful colour for a Sunburst 3. Very unusual tuners but according to the first owner who bought it in 1980 they are original! 4. As far as i know this is one of the last one piece necks made by Hamer. Enjoy!
seeker Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Not sure if it's hall of fame material or not, but my 04 custom order is the only All-Korina Studio Custom I've seen. Actually has a flamey korina back, which I should take a pic of one of these days.
HSB0531 Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Ronni's been diggin' up old stuff and rotaing some on her myspace page.I'm actually related to that woman.
bubs_42 Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I get bent everytime I see this guitar, This was an ebay find wasn't it? Love that guitar! Hum & P90

atquinn Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Why is the body extra thick? Is it to accommodate the Floyd? Looks like it has the thickness of a current Duotone. How do you like the guitar? The guitar is great! See this thread for some discussion of the design and gushing. Now back to the porn!-Austin
Mr Fuzzy Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I get bent everytime I see this guitar, This was an ebay find wasn't it? Love that guitar! Hum & P90 Hi bubs, Yes, I snagged it off ebay almost 2 years ago The pickup config. is factory original. I have a home made sortacaster with a hum in the bridge and a P90 in the neck. Got me into that pickup combo. When I saw that Hamer, I could not let it slip by. It plays great. Sounds nice too. The neck P90 is a bit hot for my taste, I may swap it out but it hasn't bugged me enough to do it yet.
belgian Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 The one with the "nice" serial number : and probably the only natural one from '77
dirk Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 The one with the "nice" serial number : and probably the only natural one from '77 Congrats, what a beautiful guitar - and yes this s/n is indeed something special Thanks for showing. Dirk
BCR Greg Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Actually, I had 7 0043, and it was natural. MC Chris got it from me. It kicked ass, as I am sure yours does!
serial Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 McChris' was #7 0041 and the earliest non-sunburst Sunburst I've seen, but the records aren't 100% from the factory for the earliest ones.
MCChris Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 McChris' was #7 0041 and the earliest non-sunburst Sunburst I've seen, but the records aren't 100% from the factory for the earliest ones. Yep. I moved that along to someone; can't remember who. A HUGE, heavenly neck on that one. But (and I'm gonna commit heresy here) I've had two sustain block Hamers, one from the '70s and one from the '80s, and neither one has done it for me. Even with Rios installed, the '77 didn't cut it.
Guest pirateflynn Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 What's the story with the mini toggles in that one Conrad?
belgian Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 What's the story with the mini toggles in that one Conrad? One splitted and one changed the phase, now it's back to stock, it was done by the previous owner.Interesting change, but not for me.
