Welcome aboard!

They stopped adding that by the late '70s, but it was just a Gibson LP Standard part/Dimarzio part anyway. Pretty easy to put on there!

Thanks! Here's my 08. Hopefully the one on ebay will join it :D

This is a cool site! You guys know your Hamers

What's in the other case in the picture?

I'm Not sure Mathman. This is the picture from the shop I bought mine from. I bought mine last month from CalscustomAX Theyre Real nice folks. I liked they way this one had the binding around the headstock , body and neck. I also liked the look of the victory inlays. She plays silky smooth and is a USA made unit.

I had been looking for older Hamers standards for a while. I couldnt stand to wait so i bought this one that i will keep because its my first hamer.

I lusted after the old explorers back when I was 16-17 years old after watching Molly hatchet, blackfoot etc. etc play. Now i will probably have to pay ten times what they worth then. Oh well, the stock market sucks right now and the hamers are a much better investment than the market.

Its nice too see a forum for folks with the same sickness..LOL

Thanks

Oh well, Hoping to see more nice Pron!

Wow its a 79?? Its a sign! Thats the year i first got laid!! :D

I'm the high bidder still. However, the shows FAR from over. Hopefully, it doesnt get too nuts. If it does maybe yall can chip in and I'll bnring it to Mineapolis. :P

I cant believe the dude doesnt even have the fkg case for such a nice standard. Hell i would have the damn thing in one of those lighted boxes you see in the hard rock cafe. Yep i got it bad.

Oh well, I aint selling the Boat, Harley or living the rest of life on the couch to buy it.

Whats the highest price you guys have seen on a 4 digit standard?

If I recall, one went for around $7500. Don't know what the Martin Barre or Honeyman-Scott ones went for though. Numbers under #0100 seem to snag the highest bids.

If that darn 79' Standard goes up much more the Harley may have to go... :P

The guy told me his big screen went out and thats why hes selling it :D

Looks like he will be able to get a whole home theater system to go along with the big screen.

Oh well hopefully more porn to show in a week or so.

Gene I'll give you $7K for that Hlubek hamer you've got and cancel my bids..LOL

I'll even come down and pick it up.

Four Digits are awesome. I've owned fifteen over the years and with the exception of one, they were spectacular guitars.

Dude that's a DAMN nice standard. What year is it? How did you find it?

My family and I bumped into this former Hamer player a couple of weeks ago down in Cabo. My wife, daughter and I were Marlin fishing down there and our boat was parked next to his. What dumb luck :D

That is a '75(ish) - it's number 0017.

Tres early!

BTW - has Sammy seen the VH Asteroids game? :D

It's actually an early 76-#0017. There was one 74, #0000 and only 15 or so in all of 1975. I also have #0096 which is a January 1978, so you can see how few of the early ones there were. Sunbursts began in 1977 with 5 prototypes and 95 or 96 made in that year. Production, if that term can even be applied, was really low. I got this a few months after the original owner, a guy in Philly who was the tour manager for the Winter Bros 1976 tour, sold it to a guy in NY. I emailed the new owner who sold it to me shortly after that.

It's one of the last guitars that has an original PAF ( in the bridge). This one was rewound by Larry Dimarzio and has original Gibson bobbins. Cool guitar.

Here's #0096:

Yeah, I called him today to make sure this axe was top notch. He said he thought the most he would get would be arond $2k the night he listed it. :P

The next morning he got up he said he had nearly 20 emails with offers one of which was mine that got declined. A good stand up guy. :D

I look forward to meeting him saturday when i pick her up. He's had her since 1980 and the guitar had belonged to Prince's guitarist Dez Dickerson.

Thanks everyone on the forum who helped with my dumb questions. This is truely a great bunch of folks.

Thanks!

Your price for HFC services is the submission of many, many beautiful photos of it once you have it.

And, congrats! You sure don't see those everyday.
