hikarateboy Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Dear Friends, Hamer has always enjoyed being an "open shop" where guests are always welcome and no secrets are kept. Currently, with the success and workload of our "Designer Series" instruments, we find our shop full of dealer-specific, limited edition guitars. In respect and fairness to our dealers who have guitars in process, we wish to allow them to be in control of the publicity surrounding the specifications and availability of these guitars. This leaves us no choice but to cancel the Open House for this year. As always, we appreciate your support of Hamer guitars and hope that you understand the reasons for this decision. The open house tradition is not being abandoned, and we look forward to the next time we all get together. We are dedicated to making your open house experience better than ever. Best regards, Frank R., Frank U. and Jol D. Ted Sez: Pay attention to what this letter says. Of course it says no open house this year BUT more importantly they’re bringing a part of the factory to You thru their roadshows! These will be a fantastic opportunity for those who may not have been able to attend an open house, to see and understand the features that make Hamers so special as well as an opportunity to hang with some Hamer VIPs . I have been talking to the folks at Hamer over the last week when Frank Rindone first contacted me about this and he plans on working closely with the Hamer Fan Club to make these “Special” (Pun intended) regional events just for Hamer fans. Details to follow and will be posted on the Hamer Fan Club website as soon as further details are released. Here's the schedule as of now. This will always be accessable from the HFC main menu. For those that maybe be bummed out remember “The open house tradition is not being abandoned…We are dedicated to making your open house experience better than ever." Worst case you spend the money you saved not traveling to CT this year on a new guitar from a top you pick out at next years open house. In my opinion, just like the original HFC Open House, once again Hamer has another to add to it's list of many firsts. Frankly, (pun not intended) I am excited about this and I know that Hamer is too!
DavidE Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Not a surprise. Did anyone go to the Ovation Fan Club Open House on June 17?
MCChris Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 I'm happy to have attended one. We'll just have to have more regional jams, that's all.
DavidE Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Frankly, I was thinking of taking this year off but was torn because it's so much dang fun! The factory tours get kind of old year after year, though there's usually something new and cool to show us. I really enjoyed the presentation by Tom Wheeler this past year.I'm looking forward to a revamped open house day next year and I really hope Jol, Frank and Frank and Kim can come up with something new, exciting for all of us and perhaps we can be more united as a group by then.
cmatthes Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 A bummer in part, but definitely an opportunity to try something new. I personally love what's been happening at Hamer over the last few years, but especially the big bold moves in the last 12-18 months. Keep us posted, and definitely lets see updates on the Regional stuff!
HamerHokie Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 As long as one of the regions is DC-Baltimore, I'll be happy.Otherwise - a pox on you dealers and your custom orders!!

atquinn Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Doh! And I was thinking of seeing if I could convince my wife to go this year. Well, I'm happy I got to go last year and I look forward to going in the future if they come back. In the meantime, I think it's good for the company that they're trying to get out there and spread Hamer fever to the unwashed masses . -Austin
BCR Greg Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I was looking forward to this year. Damn.Oh, well, Jol is coming to my store in the fall, so we'll kinda have an HFC.....It won't be the same, tho.
md2020 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Well, I can understand their wanting to keep my zulu Chapifornian with L.E.D.'s under wraps. I also have some beachfront property for sale. Did I mention I'm a champion Sumo wrestler?
hardheartedbill Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Well, I can understand their wanting to keep my zulu Chapifornian with L.E.D.'s under wraps. I also have some beachfront property for sale. Did I mention I'm a champion Sumo wrestler? exactly, this board has been instrumental in a huge percentage of their new found "designer series" muy lame IMO
hamertek98 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 I was gonna try and make it for the first time. Hopefully next year. I haven't posted here for a long time..... I just wanted to say HI!
jwhitcomb3 Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Sounds like there will be a whole bunch of cool limited edition Hamers available around Christmas! Start saving yer pennies!-Jonathan
bobbymack Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 ... but I preminisced no return of the salad days. Bingo.
tafkathundernotes Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Rat Farts!!! Oh well, maybe a road trip to Lemoyne would be cool. It sure was nice having the HFC event only 2 hours from home. For one thing, I think the jams will be more practical than the giant HFC gathering. It will all work out, I'm sure.
SirDouglas Posted June 29, 2005 Posted June 29, 2005 Maybe ill just take a plane home to PA and bother Greg for his fest he'll have... since i grew up near Berwick.... git a hotel... we can trash it... have a jam in some old peoples corner bar ... be nice to git outta the hot weather fer a bit.... If Greg will let me test every Hamer he has in the store... HOOT OCT FEST.... oh wait i hated germany wtf am i talkin about... Sir Douglas Randy
