atquinn Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Hot damn! That's awesome! Did they make any other 25th LTD's in green? -Austin
sirDaniel Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 Hot damn! That's awesome! Did they make any other 25th LTD's in green? -Austin I knew Butcher would make a cameo on this thread.... there is a Salmon color 25th out there somewhere too. and it's safely tucked away upstairs. Bruce? I thought you parted with it....
burningyen Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 And I do miss the 25th I sold to you Ben, even though the Newport you traded me suits me better, and actually gets played a lot more than the 25th. That's a stellar guitar, purchased from BCR Greg at the same time that I purchased Black Bart.Knowing that the Newport is getting the playtime it deserves made my day, thanks! The 25th is my main guitar for my new original band.
hectorp Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 The first one I ever saw was SirDan's at one of the Midwest Hamer jams at the Muse and fell in love instantly. The ruby finish just glowed.I eventually got one from Make'n Music (3 of 25) and then sold it to finance something. Now I'm hugely jonesing for another one. I think that's my favorite Hamer ever. The bling was just at the right level to make it beautiful without being over the top (like the Ultimate's are, IMHO).yum yum.
Pieman Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 If they would do it, what would a custom order cost (less the silver truss rod cover)? That top and color are really outstanding.
BruceM Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 Bruce? I thought you parted with it.... Nope, I hung on to this one...next time you bring yours over, let me know, and I'll put some new strings on it and we'll have to put them both into rotation.
ceeb Posted February 11, 2009 Posted February 11, 2009 If they would do it, what would a custom order cost (less the silver truss rod cover)? That top and color are really outstanding. That would bum me out. The 1st fret inlay was supposed to be an exclusive thing just on those guitars, now you just have to ask for it. Not really complaining, just sayin', these are limited edition, and to pay big $$$ for a guitar it's nice to have something special. I wanted a Newport Pro in the Ruby finish, but couldn't have it, because it was exclusive to the elite(?) (the one with the trapeze tail piece) I like the look of the 30th anni. inlays, the V-dots with a full Victory at the 12th. But that is exclusive to those, (at least for now) The full Blown Vics are too busy for me. PS. I bought the 25th ltd with the intention of stashing it away until Hamers 50th anni, then putting it up on flea-bay. That is no longer the plan. I don't play it a lot, I have a bunch of really nice guitars, but a few times a year, I'll take it out and put it through the paces for a few days or even a week. It really has a unique sound, and flat out rips the Rock'n Roll.
sirDaniel Posted February 11, 2009 Author Posted February 11, 2009 yah, that sucked about the 1st fret inlay. It was an exclusive when it came out. I've actually never heard of any company ever doing sterling accent though. That still is an exclusive. I would love to know where they all ended up.Any rumors of a 35th????????

Those all have the 1st-fret inlay. Also, Thorn has done at least 1 guitar with silver purfling (too lazy to find it on his site right now, but it's a stunner).-Austin
Travis Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Eventually, I would like to have a 25th Limited, a 30th, and a Redwood. Eventually....Stunning examples of the 25th Limited, fellas. More pics of the 30th's please.
silentman Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 I wound up with a first fret crown on my BCR sparkle Studio without asking for it. I'm guessing I got it because I upgraded to ebony which was (still is) standard on the Newport Custom/Artist Ultimate and when they were buliding it borrowed a board that would have been used for ine of those.
ceeb Posted February 12, 2009 Posted February 12, 2009 Another thing that is rarely mentioned on these guitars. The inlays have kind of a silver hue to them. They took the time to consider that, and must have requested it specially from the supplier. Pretty neat!

It says more "class" than "flash". -Jonathan

mathman Posted August 1, 2009 Posted August 1, 2009 There is one for sale in Tampa area.30th anniversary. I didn't see this in the HFC for sale section. I'm don't think someone here would feel the need to use Harmony Central website reviews. From the ad. Read the reviews listed below of this incredable AX. I am selling the only one on the market anywhere. Try to find another one. They only made 30 and they are being hoarded. Here is your chance to own a true collector. A true 10 guitar in mint condition. Product: Hamer 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Price Paid: N/A Submitted 03/10/2005 at 07:36pm by Mike Features : 10 Flame maple on Mahogany. 3 piece neck with brazilian board. klueson Machine heads. Nickel bridge and tailpiece. DC Les paul shape. Upgraded TKL case. Duncan Antiquities. Everything that should be there is there. Sound : No Opinion Has a smooth bet very complex tone. Duncans are great in this guitar. Does everything that your best Les Pauls will do. Very authentic vintage tones. Action, Fit, & Finish : 10 Everything was as perfect as any guitar I have every owned. Finish, setup, finish were all beyond perfect. Beautiful burst. Reliability/Durability : 10 As rugged as any guitar of it's type. Customer Support : 10 Lifetime warranty. Overall Rating : 10 I've been playing for 35 years, and own more than 30 guitars, including some very expensive and old stuff. This is the best new guitar I have ever owned. I am giving straight 10s on this one, because it deserves to have them! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Product: Hamer 30th Anniversary Limited Edition Price Paid: US $3200 Submitted 08/12/2004 at 07:33am by Jonathan Whitcomb Email: jbwcomm at charternet Features : 10 The 2004 Hamer USA 30th Anniversary Limited Edition is based upon the Hamer Studio Custom (which is roughly similar to a double cutaway Les Paul Custom). Chambered Mahogany body with a highly flamed maple cap and 7-ply binding, three piece mahogany neck with an amazingly figured Brazilian rosewood fingerboard (bound, 24.75" scale). 22 medium frets, keystone shaped inlays. Two Seymour Duncan Antiquity humbucking pickups, nickel tun-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece. Two volume pots, one tone. Nickel Schaller keystone tuners, bound flame maple laminate headstock. Dunlop strap buttons. Deluxe hardshell leather case. Hamer made 30 of these, mine is #010. I'd have preferred sealed tuners, but otherwise this guitar has everything I need. Sound : 10 Killer sound. Like most Hamers, it covers plenty of ground but still has loads of personality. I like the lower output Antiquity pickups because they don't overpower the sound of the instrument. Rich, full tones, great sustain. The tone pot generates useful sounds across its entire sweep (I usually keep all three pots at 6). I play in a pop/rock band and need tones from clean to gnarly (you can hear my band at http://www.e-misery.com), but I usually play with a light to medium breakup. I've usually shied away from humbucking pickups because they sound dull to me, but these produce great, balanced sound. My main amp is a Fender Cyber-Deluxe, and I've also played it through my Lexicon Signature 284, Tech 21 Trademark 10 and PSA-1 with great results. Action, Fit, & Finish : 10 This guitar was just about perfect right out of the box. I had to tweak the truss rod slightly after changing to a heavier string gauge, but that's to be expected. The attention to detail on this guitar is astounding. The multi-layer binding and inlay work are meticulous and the finish is stellar. The natural-to-amber-to-ruby burst on the top is breathtaking: it moves and changes with the light. Sadly this guitar does not photograph well: I was underwhelmed when I saw the NAMM pictures, but when Greg at BCR Music & Sound sent me a set of photos he'd taken I realized that this was something special. Even then I wasn't prepared how great it looks in person. I've never seen a better looking guitar. The nickel hardware is more prone to tarnish than chrome would have been, but it is better suited to the color of the instrument. I know this is a collector's guitar, but I'm gonna play the hell out of it, so yeah, it's gonna get tarnished. So be it. I think you'd need a magnifying glass to find any flaws with this guitar, and even then you'd have to look long and hard. Reliability/Durability : 10 I have seven Hamer USA guitars and they are amazingly well built instruments. With proper care and maintenance this should last forever. I always have a backup for gigs...that's not a reflection on the quality of any particular guitar, it's just common sense. Customer Support : No Opinion I've never had to deal with Hamer directly, so I can't comment. Overall Rating : 10 I've been playing for thirty years and have played all kinds of instruments. I never bought a Gibson because I never found one that spoke to me: usually too heavy, too poorly made and much too expensive for what you got. I liked the idea of a Gibson, just not the guitars! So I played Fenders, Parkers, Guilds and G&Ls. I've tried a few PRS but again, they left me flat. Four years ago I played my first Hamer USA guitar and I felt like I'd come home. I now own seven and each is a gem. Even so, Hamer outdid themselves with this guitar. This is the holy grail for me. Everything works. The scale, the balance, the medium chunky neck, the combination of woods and pickups. It is effortless to play and very expressive. I just think it and the sound comes through this guitar. I've always liked the look of a flamed top guitar but had never bought one before because I found a plainer looking instrument that played or sounded better. But this one has it all. This is the most money I've ever spent on a guitar, but I think I got a great value. Certainly you can pay thousands more and get less guitar. I've had this four months and it keeps getting better. If you can find a guitar with better reviews I suggest you buy it! This is your chance to buy this 10 collector for $2500.00 not negotable. Send reply and I will arrange a private showing for you!
