WOT but I gotta ask. I wonder how many vintage standards & sunburst there are out there?

Bob

Between 12/74 and 1985, there were about 400 or so four digit Standards. Not sure about the total number of Sunbursts, but from 1977 through 1979, there were 1450 plus 4 or 5 prototypes.

#0192 is not in the log books (they're spotty up to about #0200 or so), but #0194 and #0199 were the Standards that Belushi ordered for Ronny Wood and Keith Richards-those were logged in July 1979.

Yeah, thats what Kim told me too about 0192. They said that was not unusual though and the reasons why per Mr Jol. I found out the real owner since and am sworn to secrecy.:lol:

This guitar will never be sold B) Batman has 0189?

I'm interested in purchasing any from 1974-1980 those were the years of most interest to me.

Thanks for the info serial! We should create a thread so all us members can see who has what serial ## & Style.

How often is it updated? There sure aint many 4 digit 79's on there. B)

Never. As I said, that thing makes me cringe. My registry is extremely cool I think (and so does anyone who has seen it), but that "version" lacks, well, any coolness.

I have every 79 four digit (and every 80, 81-85) in mine.

Serial Steve has a sticky topic in the main section on restarting this. It is at the mercy of 4 digit owners, all owners for that matter, to contribute information.

Thanks Gene-I just got some great shots and info on a few last week!

So help a brother out with a link to a "good" registry to look at.:lol:

No links-it isn't in electronic format other than what is on my computer. No one has been able to do it right, so until someone actually can, I'm not emailing it out anymore!

If I'm not stepping on toes I would be glad to create a page with a spread sheet for all the vintage Hamers. ;)B)

Maybe.... www.vintagehamer.com ?

This would also give my computer wiz Daughter something to do when shes not busy working my other 15 scuba websites for my dive business. B)

Actually, when the list DOES get published, it'll be here and here only. Steve hasn't been able to get a workable format to upload all of his information (well over 10 years worth of collecting) so that it is able to be added to and will incorporate all the info he has on the instruments. If you'd like to help out, by all means, speak with him, but there is no way he's releasing years of work and what is the most complete descriptive list of Hamer's output anywhere if he doesn't have 100% control over it.

I've seen the list, and it is HUGE. Very detailed too, with lots of pictures - much more so than the link that is still attached to this site. That one is about 10 years old.

I would be glad to pitch in expertise and help create a website for EVERYONE to enjoy who owns or has interest to own a vintage Hamer.. Do you guys have hyperlinks to the pictures? With there only being 400 or less Standards out there theres really nothing to it.

We could create it using a storefront format wheras you would be uploading the guitars as serial numbers with description/picture instead of sales inventory.

I would suggest having a seperate link to the sunbursts and standards and then later the other models.

just my humble .02

I put this on Layaway at Daddy's. How much is it worth right now? What is a fair offer ?

You put it on Layaway without an agreed purchase price?

In order to get it transfered to Dedham so I can look it over, i needed to put it on Layaway so no one would buy it out from under me. I have made several purchases from Daddy's in the past doing it this way. I can allways cancel the layaway with out any penalties.

Good luck with that. Keep us posted.

It IS an '81. The first Hamer I fell in love with (an '81-'82 Standard) was in that exact finish.

chris was that standard the one from rockhaus in milwaukee??

I remember them having one quite a while back.. dot neck iirc.

I remember that one too - they had that one back in '96-'97, and also had 2 B-12s (white and natural) in at the same time. For some reason, I think that it may be a different one - I couldn't imagine that they made very many of them, but the HFC'er that ended up with it said that the serial was from a different year. I actually found a picture of that one that Rockhaus sent me over 10 years ago a month or so back in an old file. Funny that you remembered that one!

Hi Chris: If this is the standard you are remembering, it is a late 80, '81.

Peter:

That may be the one then! That's the Rockhaus one, IIRC, right?

For some reason, I was thinking that it was a later one. Gotta dust off the brain a little more, eh?

Peter, whenever you post a picture part of me gets excited and part of me wants to break down and cry.

You seem to have everything a Hamer fan could want...

Yep - he's not the guy you want to play "Stump the Band" with!!
