She's a beauty! Good luck with the sale.

Wow! Do G&L's kick Fender's butt? They always look so nicely made. I always heard great things about them. Good luck!

A Beauty for sure. One of these days I will get a G&L!

Yes!

+1000 IMO. An off the shelf G&L is comparable, and typically exceeds, the quality of Fender Custom Shop guitars. My Bluesboy is one the baddest guitars I've ever owned and I'm more of a humbucker/LP guy.

I don't want flame wars about the dealer or to possibly harm his business. He doesn't seem a bad guy, just reacted a little poorly. He calmed right down when I said I wasn't returning it over a tiny dent on a guitar he was probably selling for close to cost.

I'll tell the buyer where I got it.

With the price of beef that might be a heck of a deal for me.

But I want a good lookin cow that will MOOOOOOOOVE me

I was concerned that it would be very bright sounding because of the maple top, but it has a nicely balanced tone. I did the old A-B comparison against my MIM Strat and the clarity of tone is amazing. Nice fat and round the MIM which is a great sounding strat couldn't even get close.

When you strum open chords it just rings beautiful and leads can be what ever you want, snarl, quack no problem

i'm not a strat guy, but the G&L i had for awhile (jeffro's) was the best strat styled ax i've ever played. KILLED my 70's strat, and even bested most of the superstrats i've owned.

Oh, yes they do. Last Fall I was going through my guitars, restringing and getting several ready to consign to thin the herd. One that I considered automatic was my 1996 Legacy that I hadn't played in years, having moved on to set neck Hamers mostly. But when I gave it a cursory run-through, it immediately jumped to my short list of keepers. It's a marvelous sounding and exceptional playing instrument. It has a smooth, cozy comfortable feel and while it nails much that is treasured among vintage aficionados, it has a certain zing or pizzazz that makes it stand out. It's enormously dynamic. It's also gorgeous--black and silver swirl body with ivory MOTO pg and all maple neck. I'm stringing it with hot pink strings to bring out my inner punk.

My two basses are also G&Ls and have "never sell" status.

Brooks ain't shitting ya. The best strat I've ever played in my life is "Barbie," and that includes Fenders, G&Ls, etc., and all the pre-CBS and vintage voodoo buttah booteeky hobgobsnobbery that's been put in my hands over the years.

As for Legacy and G&L guitars in general, one of the few guitars I'd be completely confident buying sight unseen.

Barbie eye candy ...

Jeff, what is the pickup you have in the bridge? Anything in the full-size HB realm that you can compare the sound/characteristics to?

Rocktuna, nice looking Legacy....good luck with the sale.
