I don't really care if it says Les Paul on it or not but that peace sign or chicken foot or what ever they call it looks like shit.

Along with the Great Wall of China I think that the Chickenfoot logo on the headstock can be seen from space. Still waiting for the HSAS signature edition.

If anything it should have been one like this....

Sammy Columbus, Ohio October '79

I always think of him with an Explorer or his Dean Baby ML. He has always had a Red Les Paul too it seems.

Even sang about it...

Crank up the drums,

Crank up the bass,

Crank up my Les Paul in your face......"

I agree he only retired that gutiar when they came out with the explorer X. I definetly relate to him and the explorer myself.

I didn't know he could play guitar..

Won't be many of those sold with that headstock. And a few years they will be worth a small fortune...lol .. Unreal.

Wow that silkscreened on too. I thought it might come right off. He went with a 57 in the neck and a Burstbucker 3 in the bridge. Definatly be a volume increase from neck to bridge. Sounds like its a long neck tenon also.

I don't know how I ever lived without one.

Fact is that's one fine Les Paul minus the silly logo. Love the color and spec on it. Had they chosen to do more of a comedy LP with a giant Chickenfoot graphic across the body, I may be more on board. But this is a gorgeous Les Paul defaced with a silly oversized logo.

Here is the the thing. I don't know because I haven't played one but Sammy's has played a LP Classic since the 90s in Trans Red. Probly just a copy of that guitar, but it would have been cooler if it just had the Alien Sticker behind the bridge like Sammys than that logo.

Some black paint could cure that headstock

Yep.

I love Sam, and it's a great looking guitar, but 'WTF' really says it all.

I thought it was held in place by the six TMs.

Whats gonna be the Retail price? Figure about 60% of the list right?

So you could still put yourself into a used Mint 58RI for that kind of cash.

Gibson site says $3,894 (reasonable considering what they're asking for a new Les Paul these days). Wonder what it would cost without the logo? Also disappointed it isn't the trans red I associate with SH (not that I'd necessarily be in the market...)

Just re-read your response, GT. Yes, 60% of MSRP would put you right in the neighborhood of some really nice "pre-owned" Historics (sans 'foot').

That would be the LP that I've seen him play every concert I been.

That would be loaded with a 500T and a 496R I believe. Probey why he picked the Burst 3 and a 57.

That would be the better route for someone looking for a guitar to play. Somewhere out there are probably a few collectors who will grab one of these to put away and admire.

Who was that nascar driver that smashed the les paul trophy guitar? Maybe he'll get a signature model next? This ones still better than the Hendrix Gibson strat.

If guitars like this did not sell, Gibson would not be putting them out.

In this case it is odd because Sammy Hagar really has not been identified by one guitar, and his pointy ones are the most memorable.
