morningstar Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 +1 on Kiz's observation. Joe is very cool to deal with. A hell of a player too. If I had not been out of job for over a year I'd be buying at least one of these. The O'Connor marbles give me goosey bumps. Anybody want to buy an old lawyer?morningstar
seeker Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I don't know the guy...but if I was him, I wouldn't use Craigslist as a gallery to show a crapload of my guitars, especially since he says only three or so are gonna get sold. I'm not sure if I'd let a total stranger pick which one to sell, either, kinda a waste of time if the owner doesn't want to sell that particular one.Yeah, but you're not him.Joe fears no man.Ain't that the truth. Found this jewel a while back; Joe's advice near the bottom.
Mindseyes Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 If i'm correct, he knows SS personally, and a bunch of those are signed. His passion for Stevie Stevens may rival Bill Baker's passion for Ace Frehley. Look at those f*cking boots. My wife would love dem bootz!!

The O'Connor marble and a couple others were mine. I've also bought from him in the past. His stuff is all top notch and he's a "no BS" kind of guy. Hey, it's "Joisey!" Would you expect anything else?I hear a guy who low-balled him is in a landfill......
BlueRedWhite Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Holy mother of HamerThe red SS1 with boomers...me want it, me want it, me want it!!!And Joe is a charm to deal with!!
tobereeno Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 I can't get the black one with the maple fretboard and reverse headstock out of my mind....
burningyen Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 As soon as I saw the thread topic I had my suspicions.
bambino68 Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Did they all sell???Anyone know how I can see what he was selling??HELP???
tobereeno Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I wouldn't be surprised if NONE of them sold, and if it was just Joe wanting attention and online chitchat for his collection.
Studio Custom Posted December 4, 2011 Author Posted December 4, 2011 Here is another ad with one of the guitars same location:http://newjersey.craigslist.org/msg/2732390010.html
bubs_42 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I've done transactions with him before with no issues. He contributed my SS Project and sold me a few pickups at a cheap price. Very Nice Collection! Sure with I like the wacky finishes, that Sustainblock would be mine.
bambino68 Posted December 4, 2011 Posted December 4, 2011 I got in touch with him. Great guy to talk to. He has several items id like to buy.
Studio Custom Posted December 5, 2011 Author Posted December 5, 2011 That ad is back uphttp://newjersey.craigslist.org/msg/2736601794.html
burningyen Posted December 5, 2011 Posted December 5, 2011 I wouldn't be surprised if NONE of them sold, and if it was just Joe wanting attention and online chitchat for his collection.Given the economy, my money is on this sale being for real.
whiskeyzulu Posted December 6, 2011 Posted December 6, 2011 Ad back up: http://newjersey.cra...2736601794.html heres the pics
Jeff R Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Just showed Von the money shot and pointed out the ones with the signatures/decals.Von, sarcastically phrased: "And signed by whom?"Jeff R: "'Soupy Sales."LOLJoe's SS batch is incredible. I see two or three I'd love to have in my stable.FYI, he and I swapped PMs and e-mails several times back in the day and I never had a problem with the guy, He has an edge like a machete converted into a razor but he's a straight shooter and I'd trust him 100 percent.I wonder if the catalyst for the SSS (Steve Stevens selloff) is him finding ... what was it, the aircraft carrier graphic Californian he chased with a passion?
kizanski Posted December 7, 2011 Posted December 7, 2011 Jeff R: "'Soupy Sales."HAHAHAH!!!Again I say, "Look at those f*cking boots!"
Studio Custom Posted December 7, 2011 Author Posted December 7, 2011 I inquired about one of the guitars and the reason for the sale. He told me is about to receive a custom order Zon Hyperbass and wants to offset some of the cost and thus keep the woman in his life happy. The guitar I wanted he is unwilling to part with, as he had purchased directly from Steve. He said he might be putting one or two on eBay later this week.
