Forget Murkat, long live MERLIN! Great work, sir. If anything around here ever needs help (besides me), it is headed your way!
crunchee Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Magical! It's gonna be nice to see Wyldbil's Hamer spruced up and back in action!
hardheartedbill Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 Kinda hate to see the wyldbil fixed up. I pulled it outta an apartment fire in NYC around '94. Awesome work as usual

murkat Posted July 24, 2012 Author Posted July 24, 2012 Kinda hate to see the wyldbil fixed up. I pulled it outta an apartment fire in NYC around '94. Awesome work as usual I am just a contractor for the client. I do what I am told. Top scraped, light sanding on wyldbil. " Strange figuring on that veneer! And how are you going to get that Sharpie out?!?" By taking off the pressure plate silly.... A nice veneer on the GM tribute
django49 Posted July 24, 2012 Posted July 24, 2012 I kinda liked the Plywood Top.You can always get a 335!
Hamer Dave Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I imagine when keeping the nibs there's no easy way to true/plane the fingerboard while frets out? Sacrificing one of the benefits of a refret?
murkat Posted July 25, 2012 Author Posted July 25, 2012 You are correct. There is no easy way to true and plane the board with the original binding nibs. But,the task was acomplished. Look closely at some of the pics.....
veatch Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 I kinda liked the Plywood Top. You can always get a 335! Beat me to it...
The Shark Posted July 25, 2012 Posted July 25, 2012 " Strange figuring on that veneer! And how are you going to get that Sharpie out?!?" By taking off the pressure plate silly.... A nice veneer on the GM tribute After my conversation with Jay last Friday, I was pretty sure it was going to be fantastic. He seems to toy with understatement, if you know what I mean. When I first discussed this project with him, Jay said "I have some really good one-piece veneer". I think that's evident.
