hamerhead Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Are those faux-authentic 'pizza day'-style fingerprints on the Sunburst? Now that's what I call attention to detail! The Chandler kicks a$$. Well, they all do, but the Chandler mostly......right after the Sunburst.
murkat Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Are those faux-authentic 'pizza day'-style fingerprints on the Sunburst? Now that's what I call attention to detail! you don't miss much do you dusty hands, taking pics, trying to make you happy, Oh, thats where the pick guard aparatus hole is on the side, and I filled... silly me and my paw prints...
crunchee Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Fantastic work, fantastic stuff! That Chandler is KILLER! Is it gonna have a headstock logo on it? John Fogerty's Rick 325 "ACME" headstock logo comes to mind...except his looks like the letters were printed in Crayola crayon, so anything would be an improvement over that!
murkat Posted June 1, 2013 Author Posted June 1, 2013 Fantastic work, fantastic stuff! That Chandler is KILLER! Is it gonna have a headstock logo on it? TY.Nope. client wanted the headstock left bare, as is.He did want me to sign it, backside, etc.I declined...(rickenbacker can be a nasty bunch)

G Man Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 As always, nothing but the highest praise to the Master. Killer work Jay, thanks for sharing.
zorrow Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Awesome stuff! My pickguard looks killer, but I'll have to call dibs on Thorn's Vector as well. PS: How thick is its neck?
cmatthes Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Something wicked your way headed soon, from Master Stike's talented talons...
Ting Ho Dung Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Awesome stuff! My pickguard looks killer, but I'll have to call dibs on Thorn's Vector as well. PS: How thick is its neck? I haven't had too goodaluck with dibs here, LOL The neck is nice on that one. I only had it a few days but I think it's just like my '83 Blitz. When I get it back I'll measure it.
Carl.B Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Cool stuff as always, it's nice watching a master do there work!
kizanski Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Two guitars (well, one guitar & one bass) on the way to NTL...Nothing too sexy, but I'm sure it'll be worth a look when the time comes.
kizanski Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Like I said, nothing sexy.Just a Strat partsocaster with a neck I don't like and a vintage P-bass that has been sitting in a case for a couple of decades and needs the "80's removed from it, if you know what I mean.I have no pictures, or I would provide.
cmatthes Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 I'll definitely keep an eye open for those when they hit the bench.Always good stuff...
kizanski Posted June 5, 2013 Posted June 5, 2013 Well, the Strat partsocaster is nothing special. I might even scrap the whole thing. The P-bass is something else. It belonged to my late brother, Joey.He bought it new in 1976 and had it ever since. He gigged it a few hundred times at CBGB's and assorted other dives around the tri-state area with his band The Unjust, and then, after their breakup, it sat in its case more or less for the next 20-25 years until his sudden, untimely death last June 16th.So, here was this really nice '76 P-bass, but it was the '80's and as you know, it was the practice to modify everything back then, especially if it didn't need it, so there were a few mods made. There was the EMG pickups and the BADASS II bridge, most notably, and I would like them returned to stock. Luckily, my brother saved everything. He had 2 basses: this Precision and an '84 BC Rich Eagle (which he also bought new). They stay in their cases - "Museum Status" he would call it - and that's where they will remain once Jay is done with the Fender.
