primaltone Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Electric-Guitar-For-Sale-Rare-Steinberger-GL7TA-/200968778398?pt=Guitar&hash=item2ecaac329eNote that I'm not dissing the guitar. I have a MIK maple version and really like it for a travel guitar. Is THIS ad a joke or for real?
Bobby Marshall Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 He thinks he wrote every note on every album for the last 60 years of rock music.I say that as that is the only way any guitar made post 1985 with a non factory finish is worth that much coin. You have to be famous. Is he famous? I don't know. I do know Steinbergers a little. An original white GL2T can sell for over $3k. I saw this listing or a previous one. Didn't understand then or now. Maybe he has fans?
Studio Custom Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Wife: sell that damn guitar!Him: yes dearHer: so did you sell it yet?Him: no dear, but it's on ebay, you know bad economy and all, it may take a while
django49 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Steinway, Steinberger....Hard to tell them apart.
crunchee Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 If his goal was to talk me out of buying this thing, mission accomplished!
Boomerang~Junkie Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I'll bet if the infamous, "Make Offer" button ever dares to appear on this listing, he'll be quickly hit with more than a few of the HFC obligatory three-fiddy offers from this wrecking crew. And he probably has that coming to him.
Montelovesco Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hard to beliebe. Than again: I have a 80s Hohner copy in well played cindition. Anyone for, say, 18.000$ :-)
prototype-fan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I love this line: "If you buy this guitar it comes AS IS."

Disturber Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Why are you bitchin'? It has EMG's. Now that should be worth something, shouldn't it?
dragan Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 maybe he got the decimal point in the wrong place ......$435.00
mc2 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Insane price.Ronni Crooks sold her white endorser one in 2011 or 2012, which was way nicer and more unique...TransTrem with S-S-H pickup setup. Dead mint except for a factory installed SpinStrap setup. She threw it on EBAY for $2500 because her daughter needed some new DJ Gear for a gig in Spain. The guitar sold in like TEN MINUTES!!!Still had her black one when she died. That one she had for 30 years that Ned built her. Had a CHUNK out of the back...she even backed over it one nught on the way to a gig in a Delta 88!! hahaha Loaded up her car and didn't see the black gig bag leaning against the car in the dark....Steinberger fell under the wheel and the gig bag exploded!! After feeling the bump she backed over...got out and saw it under the car....opened it up, said "looks OK" and threw it in the car. Tuning up before the gig, she is looking all annoyed and I yell across stage and she says "my guitar is REALLY out of tune...it NEVER goes out of tune." Funny.http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/mc2NYNO/media/RonniCrooks_Steinbergers_zps18182cc6.jpg.html?sort=3&o=83#/user/mc2NYNO/media/RonniCrooks_Steinbergers_zps18182cc6.jpg.html?sort=3&o=83&_suid=1392831167803013443407983947175

coolfeel Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I dunno guys, he may be just ahead of us if we consider the true cost of inflation in dollars... yikes...lol
ghamerinfrance Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I think you may (we all too) miss "Humor"...
primaltone Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 Wife: sell that damn guitar!Him: yes dearHer: so did you sell it yet?Him: no dear, but it's on ebay, you know bad economy and all, it may take a whileMaybe this is most accurate? "Really, I'm trying to thin the herd, I swear!"Ya know, three fiddy is in the price, so maybe....
conorb Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 He and the owner of the Corolla could get together for a few $100 beers.http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=97330&endYear=1989&modelCode1=COROL&showcaseOwnerId=4745993&startYear=1983&makeCode1=TOYOTA&listingType=used&listingTypes=used&searchRadius=0&mmt=[TOYOTA[COROL[]][]]&minPrice=1000&listingId=339911214&listingIndex=1&Log=0conorb
sixesandsevens Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Wife: sell that damn guitar! Him: yes dear Her: so did you sell it yet? Him: no dear, but it's on ebay, you know bad economy and all, it may take a while I'd never considered that approach before... it could explain so many eBay listings without having to look (further) down on mankind... Hard to beliebe. Than again: I have a 80s Hohner copy in well played cindition. Anyone for, say, 18.000$ :-) Your number formatting over there and over here are REALLY incompatible on this one. I'd gladly pay eighteen bucks for your Hohner headless. Edit: "But the napkin says 18 inches..."
